evening at the Christian church was held the hlgh .school and eighth grade commencement exercises.' The church was beautifully decorated with' flowers ferns and palms. - The high school orchestra and the high school girls' glee club furnished the music under the . direction of Mrs. - Ida May - Williams. -
The address was given by Jonothan
Rfildon" of, Winona, and the diplomas were presented, by County Superintendent Lee Driver of Winchester.
Washington township was the first
to hare its graduates from the high school appear at the commencement with their frocks made by themselves.

News of the death of Charles P. Doner,
at his home In Indianapolis, Wednesday morning, ' wis , received with a
core than ordinary degree or sadness by the people of this community where he was reared, received his elementary and. high school education, and was for
several years engaged in business.
Mr. Doney was a gentleman of culture and refinement, a close student of economics, whose advice was sought, and judgment accepted oh all matters pertaining to, taxation and civic im: provement. He was a graduate' of Hanover college, and was for several years engaged In teaching. In recent years," he bad been engaged in the real - estate business" and had met with a high degree of success. W. H.' Doney and George Doney of this city, are his brothers.
