that the average citizen will suspect a bona fide offer and fall for a fake. . The Man Who Would Peddle the Bill made a start at Fort Wayne avenue and Main street. The first man he approached -was Industriously hold- , ing up the corner. 1 - "I beg your pardon," said the Man Who Would, '-'will, you please buy this 120 bill? I'll sell it for $19." The man released his hold on the corner and took 'his hands out of his
pockets. His fists were clenched. 'Til.

' His reply, was, "Why not rojb widows and orphans. If that bill was good you would spend it," In Ie6s than one minute two people pVisstd up a chance to make an honest dollar and disprove a theory. Further up on Main street three men were engaged in a conversation. The Man Who Would stood by and listened. They were talking war brides ind one intended to take a chance.
"Want to buy a $20 bill? Sell it

An excellently ippointed automobile stood in front 9f one of the leading department Itores. In it sat a middle-eged wpmtn. Again the Man Who Would took l chance. , "Madam." he 'said, "I have here a )20. bill. So far five people have declined to buy it at a considerable reluction. You may have it for $1.25." The woman was not astonished. Neither was she taken back. Smiling UleaBantly, she said: "Shall I call Mr. Fee, or will you" The Man. Who Would would and did forthwith. A few steos further on two

, i am not interested in season passes to Glen, Miller park, either. I nerer match coins." It will be noticed that so far no one requested to see the bill. Deciding there must be something wrong with the method of approach the Man Who -Would changed his tactics. Taking a stand before a bank building he waited for a prospect. Picking out a prosperous looking individual he said good afternoon and held the bill out on the palm of his hand. "This bill," he said has been turned down by a round dozen of neonle " i
want to sell it. You may have It for
nair Its face value. Give 'you fifteen seconds to look it over. Think quick." ' The nrosnect took the. bill, alanced
at tt hurriedly, sought ought -the silk
maras, crinkled it and smiled. "Why
should you sell it for $10?" "That, sir, is none of your business. Do you .wish to buy?" "Let me see the bill again?" "You had it in your 'hands once and tested it. You know it is a good bill. Take it or leave it. That is flat and final." "Young man," said the prospect, "you are a clever crook. I am tempted to give you $10 just to see how rapidly you can-disappear. Over fifty people were given, a chance to make some easy money and
ail turned" It down. If you do not believe this, try it yourself. You simply cannot sell a $20 bill for $19 or less on Main street. -
