LONDON, April-26 Thre separate attack, en by warships and two by aircraft "have been delivered against the British coast by the German within the fast thirty-six hours. Former Senator Theodore burton was emphatically endorsed by the Republicans of Ohio for the presidential nomination;' and Woodrow Wilson won an enthusiastic recommendation -for renomination by the Democrats at the primary yesterday. ' - . Senator .Warren G. Harding and Governor Frank B. Willis led the ticket for Republican delegates. William Cooper Proctor of Cincinnati and John J. Sq,llivan of Cleveland apparently were -elected by smaller majorities. The so-called "irregular" candidates defeated were Matt Glaser of Cincinnati. Dr. S. O. Giffin of Columbus, and Ralph W. Tyler, negro, of Columbus. Democrats selected' as their dele-gates-at-large former. Governors James M. Cox, Judson Harmon, James E. Campbell and Senator Pomerene, overwhelmingly defeating Frank S. Monnett of Columbus, who was opposed to the renomination of President Wil
son.
KNIGHTS INSPECTED BY GRAIID OFFICER
Knights of St. John were inspected by national officers In SL Andrew's ball last night. The St. John Bercaman cadets were also inspected. Miss Clara Moorland gave piano and vocal solos between s the drills. Father Frank A. Roell gave a short talk on the value of the Knights of St. John to the church. Following the inspection the ladies of the auxiliary served a lunch.

After V an illness of . more than eighteen " months duration,' Christian Hofbeinz. one - of the oldest German residents of the city, died at bis home, 316 South Ninth street, this morning. He was seventy years of age. A resident of Richmond practically all his life, Hofheins was well known. Previous to bis illness " he bad been employed with the Hackman and Klehr f oth and Mather Brothers companies. He worked for the Pennsylvania railroad for over twenty years. ' He had been a member of the St. John's Lutheran church for more than fifty years during which time he took an active interest in church affairs. Besides his wife, Caroline, four sons and four daughters survive. Funeral arrangements have not been announced. It is requested that friends omit flowers.
