IIBLE SI1017S JOY R1CIIRISTS' LOVE OF WORLD
Rev. MUo S; Hinckle delivered a special Easter sermon at the morning services" of ' the East Main street Friends church yesterday morning. He took for his text. "Lot I am with you always even to the end of the vorld.' . - . ' . "This declaration arid promise . of our risen Lord is to : the church and every man arid 'woman in the world.
There Is no Joy like that In divine companionship. It is only- constant
companionship that affords real knowledge and friendship with Jesus. The family best represents the -kingdom of heaven on earth; the church is
called the bride of Christ, a type of
perfection in friendship. -...-r.
"Occasional glimpses ; of Jesus .1 do not bring us to the point of really knowing him; nor of bringing us to tho place where we can realize what Easter really means to us all. The
habit of praying is , practicing the presence of Christ. 'I am the living
God, the Light of the world, the Re
surrection, the- Way,, the Truth and the Life, the Alpha and Omega, the
first and the last; I was dead and ami
alive forevermore, He is all of this today and therefore 'able to save to the uttermost all who come to Him. We claim this promise today as an Easter benediction in all the relations of 'life. Jesus lived a matchless life and spoke words that never man spoke before, and eo convlnciag was his personality that when one went to arrest Jesus, be fled. The impossible in human accomplishment was perfectly easy with Jesus."
REV. DUFFY SPEAKS AT EASTER SERVICE
"He la Risen; He la Not Here. Behold the Place Where They Laid Him. This was, the text of the special Easter sermon delivered by Rev. A. D. Duffy at St Mary's Catholic church yesterday: He discussed the importance of Easter and r said that people should be thankful for such a day. ' Mass was observed at 6, 8 and 10 a. m., vespers, sermon and benediction at 3 p. m.
EASTER COLLECTIONS AT FIRST CHRISTIAN HELP ORPHAN HOME
CHOIR SINGS MUSIC AT REID HOSPITAL
'The special Easter offering for the upkeep of widows and orphans' homes
amounted to about $45 at the services
of the First Christian church yester
day. Rev. L. E. Murray said this morning. ' All services during the day
were largely attended.
The Rev. Mr. Murray discussed
"Tho Resurrection" at the . morning service. " 'The Lord is risen indeed.'
is the expression of the disciples of
Jesus after they had been convinced
by indisputable evidence. These are words of conviction and joy. The facts of history are a valid source of testimony for us. The facts of nature
suggest the possibility of a resurrection and the facts of consciousness cannot be reconciled without it. Jesus and Paul used the seed from which a new life springs as an illustration of the resurrection- This is the testimony of nature. The conscious desire and hope of a future life which seems to be intuitive is a fact of consciousness that bears testimony to the historical fac V of the resurrection. Here are three valid sources of evidence."
GOumUNION SERVICES; DRAW GREAT CROWD TO LUTHERAN CHURCH
Members' of St.' John's Lutheran church participated in the largest Easter communion service . held in the history of that congregation, according to the Rev. A. J. Feeger today. Communicants alone filled the auditirium yesterday morning, leaving little room for other worshippers at the service. An English communion service was held, in the. evening, with one of the largest, communicant lists since English was introduced in the congregar tion. The children ' who were confirmed on Palm Sunday partook of the Lord's Supper at the morning service. The significance of the Easter holiday . was pointed out In the sermons. , - . Owing to a funeral, the Easter Monday services were omitted this morning. "
The choir or Trinity English Lutheran church gave an Easter concert at the Reid Memorial hospital Sunday afternoon. The superintendent, Miss Palmer, bad arranged the hall on the first floor with piano and decorated with a profusion of Ereter flowers. The program consisted of the following: Unfold Ye Portals, Gounod; The Resurrection. Shelley; He is Risen, Turner; Hallelujah. Lo. He Wakes; Wonnherger; Christ, the Lord,' Has Risen Today. Malan. Those who sang were the following:
Sopranos, Mrs. Charles Igehnan. Mrs.
Ephraim Burner, th Misses Alma Turner, Marjorie Beck: Altos, Mrs. Louis-Stauber. Misses Emerald Kemper, Marie and Marguerite J)euker; Tenor, Mr. Charles Drifmeyer; Bass, Messrs. Charles Igelman, Louis Stauber, Otto Kemper, Ezra Weidner. Miss Edna Deuker, organist. The nurses as well as the patients seemed to enjoy greatly the Easter message presented" to them in song.

NOTHING WRINKLES
FADES OR SHRINKS
Women save $5 In an hour by dry cleaning everything with gasoline.
Dry cleaning at home is all the rage here," says a well-known downtown druggist. Any . woman can do five dollars' worth of dry cleaning at home at very little cost by dissolving two ounces of solvite in two gallons of gasoline: then immerse the articles to be cleaned; rub a little and in a few moments the gasoline evaporates and the articles cleaned look as bright and fresh as new. Dry clean your own silk waists, dresses, ribbons, belts, kid gloves, satin shoes, evening slippers, fine laces, net work, woolens, dresses, children's coats, furs, veils, neckties, fhawls, gentlemen's garments, fancy vests, lace curtains,- rugs, in fact, everything that would be ruined by washing with soap and, water. Nothing will fade, shrink or wrinkle, mak
ing pressing. unnecessary. " - Dry cleaning at home is inexpensive and effects a tremendous saving in the household and is really just as easy as laundering.; Any druggist will sell two ounces of solvite .which is' sfmply - a gasoline'scap and your 'grocer or, a ' garage will supply the gasoline. Then the outfit. As gasoline is very inflammmable, be sure to do your clean- ' ing out of doors or in a- room ; away j a wash boiler or. disbpari completes j from fire er flame, with the "windows t left open. '
Morning eervices at the Second English Lutheran church 'yesterday were taken up with reception of members by letters confirmation and baptism. Several children were baptised. Holy communion was observed. So much time was required for these services that Rev,. Raymond Isley did not deliver the sermon that he had
planned, "Our Risen Lord." All ithe
services during the day were largely attended.
EMPTY TOMB TELLS WORLD OF ETERNITY AFTER FITFUL SLEEP
Rev. W. O. Stovall explained the significance of "The Deserted Tomb" at the morning, service of the -First
Baptist church yesterday morning. He explained how the angel rebuked the disciples when they came to the tomb to seek the body of Jesus by saying, '.'Why seek ye .the Jiving among the dead? He is risen." The Rev. Mr. Stovall explained that had the disciples had the proper faith In Christ they would have believed His teachings, and would have come earlier to have seen Him arise. He explained that people today show the game lack of faith when they go to the cemeteries. The disciples were disappointed when they did not find the body there that they were looking for. "The resurrection, however, was the greatest blessing that the world has ever known. It gives power to Christianity. It is the keystone of the arch upon which all Christian civilization is
built. It was this that gives us our hope of after life. Christ said, 'Because I live, ye shall live also.' " . Following the evening cantata the Rev. Mr. Stovall baptized one young woman.

"Jesus Lives! He is Risen indeed."
This was the subject of Rev. Mr. Tressel's sermon at Trinity English Lutheran church yesterday morning. "There is the open tomb; there Is the consulting angel; there is an Easter message; there is an inspiring beauty: there is the living Christ himself. These are the Easter joys."

Huber at the German "services at St. Paul's English Lutheran church yesterday morning, v "We must keep. this Passover with all sin and evil cleansed off our heart. We must keep It with a heart of sincerity and truth." He explained how the old Jewish custom of eating nothing with leaven In it was used to symbolize the foregoing answer. The meetings at the ! church were all largely attended, the Rev. Huber said this morning. About 560 persons attended Sunday school services, and about $400 was received in offerings.
