WHEAT OPENS HIGH BUT DROPS SHORTLY

CHICAGO, April 10. Wheat declined sharply after the market opened today, and there was some buying at $1.1544. The opening was $1.164, The aiarket was slightly firmer at the tart, but traders took the selling side and the decline followed. May corn" at 74c opened c off from the previous close. Julv also

was fractionally lower. . There was some scattered commission house selling, but trade was light. . The weakness in other grain was rer fleeted in oats- May opened at 44c aid September at 40iic, fractionally lower than Saturday's close. Provisions opened lower, but were firm at tbe decline. Wheat closed with net advances of c to lc for the day. Corn was up He to c, and oats were unchanged to c higher to V&c to lc lower. The strength in wheat was the result of reports of green bugs in Oklahoma and Hessian fly in Kansas. Prices reacted from the bottom l4c to 2c. Foreigners were believed to have bought May and July. Cash sales here , were: Wheat, 25,000 bushels; corn, 65,000 buBbels, and oats 120,000 bushels. The market for hog products was but little changed.

LIGHTBOURN PLANS DECISION THIS WEEK

Rev. John S. Lightbourn told the congregation of the St Paul Protest-, ant Episcopal church at the yesterday morning service that he would try to let them know this week as to his decision about the offer of the St. Ceorge "Winyah Episcopal church at Georgetown. S. C. He outlined the forms of worship that the people should follow during the remainder of the Lenten season. As Easter advances the sincerity of the worship should increase, he aid. Nothing should be done that is not absolutely necessary and amusements should be done away with until after Good Friday. Rev. Mr. Lightbourn returned from New Harmony Saturday evening. Several repairs have been made in the church.

Standing of contestants will be printed Mondays and Thursdays. This week 250 votes will be given for each Rex Spark Plug sold. The race is still young. Plenty of chance to win if you start this week.

The Big Contest Started March 18, and Runs Six Weeks. Three hundred votes were given with each Rex Spark Plug sold by April 8. This week 250 votes will be given. Next week another decrease. It is therefore important the contestants get started at once as it is easier to sell plugs early, and more votes are given. Contest Ends April 29 Only Three Weeks More.
