EACH SCHOOL DAY f.'EAIJS ABOUT. $10 TO REAL STUDENTS

Statistics showing that every day spent in school means $10 to the average student were presented this morning at high school chapel services by F. G. Kenney, field representative for Franklin college, when he spoke on "Education and Efficiency." A young man from the time he enters the First grade until he graduates from high school puts In 2,160 days. Increased earning power for the next forty years, however,' is more than $22,000. The man without an . education averages $450 a year, while a man with a high school education averages $1,000 a year, he declared. President Thwlng of Western Reserve college has shown that a man without a college education has one chance in 10,000 of obtaining leadership, the speaker said. A man with a college education has one chance in forty. Any person can get a college education if he has the will, declared . Mr. Kenney.

DR, KENNY COMPARES MAN TO PLANT LIFE

Tonight will be young people's night at the revival meetings at the First Baptist church. The special music for the evening will be rendered by Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Foster. Mr. Kenny' subject for the young people will be- "The Call to the Greater Life." In his sermon last night on the new life Is said that the one who refuses to accept the facts of Christianity and the new life because he cannot understand all about it Is manifestly unfair. "Such a person," he said, "does not subject anything else to so unreasonable test. Take the grain the farmer plants for example. Nobody, not even the most learned biologist, knows how that small gain is changed into the living plant. But any every-day person knows the conditions under which it may be changed. And so the farmer

plants the seed without knowing how its germinates, but is sure that it will germinate, and in due time his faith Is rewarded. Neither can anyone understand how belief in Jesus Christ will produce in a man a new life, but it has done so as the experience of many people wi,ll testify. There Is that higher plane of life to which the most cultured person that ever lived does not attain without that process which the Lord described when he said to Nicodemus, "Ye must be born again."

PESKY LITTLE GERMS ARE EVERYWHERE

What's the use? Now that those in charge of health affairs have decreed that the ; germ colony must vacate from its former habitation at the free, lunch counter, temporary peace at least was the hope held forth. However, it's something else now. Mr. Cigar Smoker, did you ever consider or contemplate what .tremendous chances you are taking on your' health when, after purchasing a brand new perfecto, or something similar, you insert the tip of the weed Into the innocent looking cutter adorning the cigar case? A Richmond medical man has explained the why and wherefore. The cutter contains germs millions and millions of 'em. The reason is simple enough. The cigar smoker takes . the weed, thoroughly moistens the same with saliva, and then inserts it into the cutter. This process Is repeated hundreds of times each day. It is easy to see how YOUR FRECKLES

the germ colony takes possession of the instrument. Better have a care, ye cigar smoker.

Need Attention in March or Face May Stay Covered. Now is the time to take special care of the complexion if you wish it to look well the rest of the year. The March winds have a strong tendency to bring out freckles that may stay all Summer unless removed.- Now is the time to use othine double strength. This prescription for the removal of freckles was written by a prominent physician and is usually so successful that it is sold by druggists under guarantee to refund the money if it fails. Get an ounce of othine double strength, and even a few applications should show a wonderful improvement, some of the smaller freckles even vanishing entirely. Adv.

Maurice Maeterlinck and his beautiful wife are living a humdrum life on; their villa in the south of France. The poet in an interview with a" correspondent expressed the opinion that the war would not have abiding influence on his art,, which has no time or place. Mme. Maeterlinck, who is an 'actress of renown- hopes that the war will end soon, as its effect on the stage is disastrous. Her husband despises present day actors and actresses and usually refuses to see them, for he prefers to do his own interpreting of the great dramatic works. .
