MILTON, Ind.. April 7. The Boosters club has created a Better Roads committee, consisting of representatives from; different parts of Washington township. Its -duty will beto look after all roads, both -county and township, and tcassist the;superln-
tendentof highways and the township trustee in building and maintaining all roads in the township and encourage the building and maintaining of good
roads everywhere.
Charles Ferguson, chairman of the committee, has invented a drag to be used on the roads, in this: part of
Wayne and Fayette counties, which
has been pronounced the most effic
ient road drag ever used on Indiana roads. It works in such a manner that it builds a suitable crown for 5 the
roadway, and after the crown Is established the drag is reversed and all
the loose stones are scraped off the
road and the crown is still maintained. The cost of the drag is not great and the roads where it has been used
in Posey township, Fayette county, re
semble a boulevard. There have been several Good Roads enthusiasts who have watched the drag in action. These men are highly elated "over the work it does. Several are being built for use in Washington township. Mr. Ferguson is not putting this drag out as a money making scheme for himself but in its making he was actuated In the interests of good roads. He has tried its efficiency on the road near his own country home and has secured for his efforts a road as fine as any boulevard. -
