Most soaps and prepared shampoos contain too much alikali. This dries the scalp, makes the hair brittle, and is very harmful. Just plain mulsified rccoanut oil (which Is pure and enthcly greaseless), is much better than the most expensive soap or anything else you can use for shampooing, as this, can't possibly injure the hair. Simpl. moisten your hair with vater and rub it in. One or two teaspoonuls will make an abundance of rich creamy lather, and cleanses the bir and scalp thoroughly. T'ae lather rinses out easily, and removes every particle of dust, di dandruff and excessive oil. The hair dries quickly aru eeiji 'fc leaves it, nue va silky, bright, fluffy and easy to manAt ' Y.ou cn get mulsified cocoanut oil at most any drug store. It is very cheap, and a few ounces is enough to lart everyone in, the family, tor months. Adv.

"Just as in the issues of life, all the virtues seem to converge and focus in that one word 'temperance.'""The man "whom the Republicans will nominate In 1916 is not so important as that there should be a united party back of him." Estabrook took a - fling at Ex-president Taft for saying that Progressives would come back like prodigal sons. The" speaker said that these men will not come back in sack-cloth aad ashes but with hand clasp and. smile. He said Republicans must forgive and for get. ' Preparedness in Danger. He said that with Wilson, Bryan and Roosevelt all talking different kinds of preparedness, the thing was in danger of being talked, to death. Tonight there ' will be committee meetings and a 'meeting of the delegates by districts to name members of committees, district delegates to the national convention and presidential electors. .Although Horace Stillwell of Anderson, withdrew from the race for dele-gate-at-large yesterday afternoon for the sake of party harmony, it did little good, for shortly -following this, an- ! nouncement ' it was made known that Henry W. SOUNDING - - (Continued From Page One.) the Democratic party has persistently fought it and especially did the president, untu conrxoniea wuu me complete breakdown of its revenue system and it now takes strong ground for a bipartisan commission. ' It proposes to repeal the Underwood bill as to the tax on sugar, and virtually concedes the failure: of the bill as a revenue measure, which was the basis for its enactment. A bipartisan commission can not be productive of any definite results. Let us have a tariff commission, but let It be composed of the friends of a protective tariff, not of its enemies or hybrids. Any commission appointed under a Democratic president, is bound to be one in accord with the Democratic idea of a revenue tariff only, and would strike at the very root of the principle of protection, and continue the industrial uncertainty. Demands Larger Army. The Republican party has for years insisted on the increase of both the army and the navy, and the Democratic party has persistently opposed it. Now that grave questions confront us, our president and his party change front entirely on this question. But they, do not - do so until they are brought face to face with the 'necessity of doing so. In fact, they can only regard either as not being " wise enough to forecast this necessity, or they were mere obstructionists. The difficulty with the Democratic party on this proposition is, that it is not concerned so much with preparedness for peace, andthe paralysis of busi A CLEAR COMPLEXION Ruddy Cheeks Sparkling Eyea . Most Women Can Have Says Dr. Edwards, a Well-Known Ohio Physician Dr. F. M. Edwards for 17 years treated scores of women for liver and bowel aliments. During these years he gave to his patients a prescription made of a few wellknown vegetable ingredients mixed with olive oil, naming them Dr. Edwards' Oliv Tablets, you will know them by their olive color. These tablets are wonder-workers on the liver and bowels, which cause a normal action, carrying off the waste and poisonous matter that one's system collects. If you have a pale face, sallow look, dull eyes, pimples, coated tongue, headaches, a listless, no-good feeling, all out of sorts, inactive bowels, you take one of Dr. Edward's Olive Tablets nightly for a time and note the pleasing results. Thousands of women as well as men, take Dr. Edwards' Olive Tablets now and then just to keep in the pink of condition. ness, which was fast creeping upon us when, the foreign 'struggle came, and which must- inevitably ensue on the termination of, the foreign war." ' The Republican part; believes in preparedness for both. Bills on False Ground. . The army reorganization bills drafted by a party still permeated with the principles of states rights, and jealous of national power, are false in principle, and are a sham to deceive and lull the country-into a false security.. : The military, and naval -policy is not the only- blundering, of the administration; it has done quite as poorly with respect to the finances. As patriots, before we are partisans.
the Republican party has sought, in so far as it was 'possible, to uphold the hands of the president. 1 The nation has been humiliated, its citizens slain upon the high seas and on land, and we have had nothing but protest; and another letter written. Are we to condone and approve this vascillating and blundering Incapacity, simply because we have not? been plunged into war?' Has the administration taken a definite stand on any policy? Lacks Definite Policy. A firm and definite policy would have prevented the three years of watchful waiting with respect to Mexico, where the conditions are daily becoming worse, and the situation more complicated. The president demanded a salute of the flag by Huerta, but it remains unsaluted to this hour. He makes threats to German and to Great Britain, couched in rhetorical language, which they have long since learned are mere bravado. . His latest letter to German regarding the sinking of the Sussex means war if he means what the letter im ports, because Germany has served notice she will continue to sink belligerent passenger vessels. Even the Mexicans have come to regard the president's statements as mere buncombe, so low have we falten in national prestige. Hair Gray? Then Apply Q-Ban It Darkens Gray Hair Evenly No Dye Harmless.
