LAND TAX SYSTEM GROWS IN COUNTY, BOWMAN DECLARES
Study of the taxation problem In Vayne county that has been made by by County Auditor L. S. Bowman, will be used as the basis for a revision In the state tax laws. This revision has been suggested by the state commission on taxation. Governor Ralston recently appointed a Wisconsin university expert to make a preliminary study. Mr. Bowman is vice-president of the state tax association, which instigated the revision demand. The recent hearing in Indianapolis was attended by Mr. Bowman who rehearsed the conditions as he found them in Indiana. To Mr. Bowman lias been assigned the study of county and township taxes. "This country is witnessing a great change in the methods of taxation," said Mr. Bowman. "The state Is gradually approaching the Henry George eystem of land tax, which is a single tax on real estate. One hundred years ago, I find that in Wayne county, 40 per cent of the taxes were on real estate and 60 per cent on personal. Today I find that 65 per cent is on real estate and 35 per cent on personal property." Mr. Bowman said the plan of-the stale association, whose powers have now been delegated to the commission on taxation appointed by Governor
Ralston, Is to present a revised code to.
the state legislature next December.

Life of Savage

han Modern
The theory that most of the ailments of today are caused almost entirely by those habits that distinguish the, white man from his Ions :i0 bt oilier, the savaxe, is more widely discussed every day. The xnvuge. In many ways, was a more sensible being than the man who made war on him and tl.en seized his birthright. It lias been said by medical outhoritics that nine out of ten cithos of tdekness can he traced to a disordered stomach, and that the ailments are due, in a large measure, to excessive 'eating and drinking and to little healthful outdoor exercise. Common sense should be used in our mode of living. It was with this end in view that Joseph Von Trimbach, the noted chemist and originator of so many health aids, gathered hebs. root;-, barks and flowers from the most remote parts of the world and spent years of his life in experimenting and study before he arrived nt the solution of the problem of relieving stomach troubles, lie named his discovery Tanlac. Tanlac has met with instant favor wherever it has
been introduced, it has created a romancc in the business world. Hun
dreds of thousands of sufferers have realized the benefits of this great reconstructive tonic. Tanlac is believed to act more favorably, because tof the nature of its ingredients, on ilments of the stomach, liver and kidneys, and on catarrhal affections of the mucous membranes, which, when neglected, are so often communicated to the vital organs themselves, than any other known preparation. This ideal reconstructive tonic, appetizer, invigorant and builder of tissues has been lauded by men and women in all walks of life. It has proved a boon for sufferers from those all too common ailments. Tanlac now is boing especially introduced in Richmond at Clem Thistlethvvalte's drug stores, where the Tanlac man explains its merits and the results which may be expected from its use. . V Tanlac "hiay be obtained in the following near by Ohio towns: New Taris. K. M. Kessler; Eldorado. O. H. Mastin: New Madison, Thomas Ewbank; Eaton, Lake Drug Co.; Camden, J. U.
