COMSTOCK GETS Continued From Page One. he had "carried the banner of our party as near to the purple peak of victory as I could," intimating that ha was principally responsible for the recent rejuvenation of the Republican party fit the Sixth district. He expressed the opinion that he was agaiu entitled to the Republican congressional nomination because of past services to his party. A restless crowd tnthe gallery once caused Mr. Jordan -1 Interrupt Lynch until quiet had been restored. Comstock Gets Ovation. Judge Comstock spoke for the most part on George Washington. The meeting last night was supposed to ba a celebration of the birthday of the Father of His Country, but Judge Comstock was the only speaker who spoke of Washington. The Richmond jurist also paid a tribute to the soldier dead of Whitewater and Franklin township and alluded to his own services to the Union as a soldier. "That is the record I take most prid-s in." ' Judge Comstock said. "I have no record as a Btump speaker." In concluding his address he spoke briefly of his awn candidacy. He said he had held office in the past but had been fairly nominated and elected to each office, one of which, the prosecutorship of Henry county, he had resigned to enlist as a private In the army during the Civil war. "Not much of an office to give up, but all I had to give," he remarked, and the crowd nppla'uded vigorously. He said that In those positions of trust he had been elected to he had given the people his best services, and that his record as h public servant was one he took great pride in. At the conclusion of his address the big crowd tendered him an ovation,. COUGH SAVES FAMILY. HARTFORD CITY. Ind.. Feb. 23. Brakeman Sees Danger Signal in The Nick of Time When a brakeman on the road sees a red signal he scents .danger. He realizes that his trajn is held up fo Fome Important reason. His , first thought Is for the safety "of the train Intrusted to his care, and he immediately starts out to find the cause of the hold-up. But the danger signals of ill health are very frequently neglected. A great many people realize that they are suffering from some form of sickness and neglect to find out the real cause of the trouble. They neglect the danger signals and frenuently wait until they are In a serious condition before they are concerned about it. Such was the experience of John M.
Gilpin, brakeman on the Pennsylvania railroad. . In talking with the VI n Hcpatlca representative a few days ago, he remarked: "My position as n brakeman exposes me to all kinds of ' weather. Very often I have to get out of a warm car and tramp along the; railroad track In rain or snow on minute's notice in the discharge of my duties. Then again I have no regular meal times. 'On a long run I hftve to snatch a bite whenever the opportunity offars. and It Is usually rmld. in the shape of sandwiches, pie or some other quick lunch food with perhaps a cup of hot coffee. When you live this kind of life for a number of years it finally tells on the most robust u constitution an' tnis is w hat happened to mo. "About a year ago my stomach went back on me and I also suffered quite a good deal from ' rheumatism. My appetite was poor, hardly anything tnsted good to me and after eating I frequently had severe stomach pains.
I tried a great many remedies and consulted doctors, but did not get any better. I was gloomy and depressed In spirits, lost weight and got weak. Altogether I was a sick man. "Recently a friend cf mine In Payton told me that Vin Hepatica had done him a great deal of good and V. suggested it would be helpful to me nnd he thought It. would cure -me. y flight then I made up my mind to try

I have been taking it. now for over two weeks and I feei like a different man. My rheumatism hrs passed away and my appetite has returned, and best of all. everything I cat seems to agree with me. I am strong and cheerful and In better health lhan I have been for the last two years. You can certainly count me a booster for Vin Hepatica." Vin Hepatica is unequalled as a liver, stomach and kidney remedy. It purges the system of all poisonous waste, aids digestion, strengthens the nerves, and is a grand reconstructive medicine. . Vin Hepatica is on sale at all of VTbi stletbwaite's drugstores and is bedemonstrated at 914 Main street, where a representative will explain iu

Despite the widespread publication of the discovery that .1. H. Putnam, maintaining stock brokerage Offices in Broad street, and Dr. J. Grant Lyman, said to be a notorious swindler, are the same man, checks and money are still rolling into the office here. In one day more than $15,000 in checks were received in the mail.
