A rattling good card of basketball is billed for the Coliseum tonight when
Horace Parker sicks bis crew of Richmond Quakers onto the Dayton Cadet five, regarded as one ot the three fast
est basketball aggregations in the country today. The Cadet-Richmond game will be preceeded by a mlxup
between Ray Brunton's Richmond Independents and the representative five
of th Shamrock Athletic club, of Dayton. Both games should prove classy at
tractions. The Dayton teams which appear here tonight are two of the
three speediest crews traveling out of ' Dayton. The reputation of the Cadets : Is well known. The Shamrocks dem-1
onstrated their class when they defeated the Richmond independent club 22 to 9, at Dayton a fortnight ago. The Cadet club invades Richmond tonight with practically the same team that three years t.go broke Richmond "T'l" winning streak of nineteen consecutive games. Tho Sachstatters, Norm and Hugh, Al Mahr and "Heinle" Zimmerman, members of the team at that time vill be with the Buckeyes tonight.
By FRANK DUNING, Sport Writer. Tentative schedule of athletic events at the Richmond high school for the remainder of the season 1915-16, as announced by Principal F. G. Flckell, and Athletic Director Robert Nohr,
Jr., today, emrhasize& the fact that
Richmond high athletes are to be kept
busy until the close of school next
June.
According to the plans of the R. H.
S. authorities, Richmond high, follow
ing the close of the basketball season
in March, will in turn devote time to baseball, track and tennis.
At present and for the next six or seven weeks, basketball will remain the center of athletic activity at the school. Enthusiasm in the game is at high water mark In the history of the sport at R. H. S. Until the close of the season March 17 and 18, when the Quakers take the state tournament at Bloomington, basketball will hold sway. Plays 3 Home Games. Schedule of the varsity beginning with the New - Castle game at New Castle the coming Friday and ending with the district tournament at the Coliseum, March 10 and 11, Includes three "at home" games out side of the tourney matches. Following the New Castle battle, Hagerstown, Connersvllle and probably Waynetown, will invade Richmond in order. The
Waynetown came is pending. Ander
son and Rushville, games played on foreign floors, complete the regular
schedule. Intergroup basketball among students of the school will be continued. Intergroup games will be played every Tuesday night until the middle of March, Coach Nohr announces. With the close of the basketball season, baseball will be given the floor While nothing definite as to schedule has been announced to date, R. H. S. wHI have baseball this spring. Principal Pickell "strongly favors the game. Intergroup games will be started about April 17. Matter of sending a repre
sentative team to the state meet at Purdue will be taken up by the Board
of Control and Athletic association.
Track and field work, too, will have its Inning. An attempt will be made to develop a first class track team at the Bchool this spring. It is probable
that the Central High Association, of
which Sixth district teams are mem
bers, can be secured for Richmond. In
case the local team shows class it will
be entered in the state high meet to
be held under the auspices of Franklin college, at Franklin, May 13.
v And those not Interested in base
ball or track athletics will have tennis to fall back on. Tennis, more popular
than ever among high students last summer, will be given a prominent
place in the list of school athletic
events.

SIGN HOME PLAYERS FOR QUAKER SQUAD
Persuant the policy adopted during the latter part ot the 1915 season, Richmond baseball club, in offering summer baseball to the fans of Rich
mond, win place a thoroughly local,
representative Richmond club, in the
field next spring. According to the present plan. Richmond baseball club will bavo only local boys In Its lineup. Directors of tho Richmond club will
set together some umo in tho near
future to map out details for the coming season. At a roccnt meeting intoimal discussion as to plans of oper
ating tho Richmond club this year,
wore made. '
Club directors almost to a unit believe that .Richmond can produce a
first class semi pro club without hav
ing to go outside of the city for its
players. ;. - "v:v.----v . .
A recent report to the effect that
ihe Richmond club wa considering locating its grounds in Beallview, is
not taken seriously by club directors. The R. B. A. holds a two year lease on
Athletic park and until this expires the club would not think of changing Its park location, an offfcer of the
club said this morning.

Defeat Peeves Rushville Five
Commenting on the walloping handed
the Rushville high school basketball team in the game with Richmond the other night, the Rushville Jacksonian has the following to say:
"Richmond, the 'Quaker City some
times known as the 'City of Brotherly Love,' is a misnomer, according to
Rushville high school athletes. They were defeated at Richmond, 61 to 22, in the roughest game of the year. Half the Rushville quintet was put out of commission before the game was half over.

"New Castle Next." and "On to; New Castle"- are slogans popular with Richmond high school rooters who are making big preparations for the invasion of New Castle and the sabsequent rout of the Rose City five in the coming battle at New Castle Friday night, - When New Castle and Richmond, without a doubt the stroncest hiah
school teams in the Sixth district today, meet on the basketball floor it is always a good policy to send in the riot. call early. Rivalry isn't the word that expresses the "friendly feeling" fostered by -these two factions. The exact number ot rooters who
will accompany the team to New Cas

, " ' EB WIECHMAN.
Eb Wiechman, famlliarily known as
"Epp", lengthy pivot man of the Rich
mond Quaker basketball outfit. So
far as known the tallest center in Richmond today. Earned his reputation by his ability to stand under the goal, reach up at arms length and deposit the sphere into the folds. One of the most consistent point getters of the team last year, Wiechman has been the victim of several minor accidents this year that have kept him out of the majority of the season's games. Wiechman will star at center in the Richmond-Cadet game at the Coliseum tonight.

The Richmond Quaker-Dayton Cadet game scheduled for the Coliseum tonight no doubt recalls to the minds of at least a few local fans tho Richmond Y. M. C. A.-Cadetf game of three years ago and several humorous incidents connected with the game at that time. It was the old Y. M. C. A. team with a record of nineteen consecutive games won that represented Richmond in those days. The lineup of the Richmond team at that time was Laning and Jones, forwards; Roach and Duning. center; Parker, Br union.

Brown and Schepman, guards. Richmond fans and team alike believed "Richmond unbeatable." So when the Cadets journeyed to Richmond for tho game, that if won, would make it twenty straight for Richmond, a few -of the more enthusiastic "Y" backers decided that a little celebration following Richmond's victory over the Cadets would be the proper and fitting. In accordance with th?.s plan, a number of faithfuls , (names not divulged) got busy. The wherewithal, in the shape of barrels stuffed with'" excelsior, boxes, several cans of gasoline and in short every description of combustible, material obtainable added to tho collections 5 VTJs also said that quite a bit of armor and munition display featured a pre-gamo conference in the "Y" basement. The Dayton - crew walloped Richmond and the trash man had tho pleasure of removing the collection of munitions intended for the celebration that was to mark Richmond's twentieth victory.
