PENCE'S WORK HOLDS LOCALS TO LOW SCORE
Muncie Goal Tender Makes 61 Different Stops Richmond Plays All Round UpState Quintet. HOW THEY STAND. ' W. It. Pet. Richmond ......... 8 5 .615 Muncie 7 7 .500 Indianapolis ....... '3 6 .333 Richmond defeated Muncie last night 2-0 in a rather one-sided and uninteresting game. Muncie was handicapped through the absence of Williams who had to quit after two minutes of play on ascount of injuries received in the game with Indianapolis Tuesday night. Williams hurt his spine and there is some doubt as to just when he will, be able to return to the game and play in, his old form. L. Quigley made the first goal for Richmond after 2:06 minutes of play in the first half and neither side was able to land the" pill until the third period when Evans caged it after 7:05 minutes. Richmond played Muncie all over the floor and it was only due to the wonderful game put up by Pence that the visitors were able to get by with such a small total against them. Pence made 61 stops and the majority of them were difficult attempts. He put up one of the greatest defensive games seen in a long time. Without hint Muncie would have been swamped. : O'Metz was not overworked although he played brilliantly at times. He had only 28 stops. Griffith played a splendid game for Richmond handling the ball in a masterful fashion. The floor work of Evans stood out noticeably and he with both of the Quigley boys playing in great Bhape added interest tothe game. Lineup and summary: Richmond. Muncie. L. Up to date President Brehm has not received any official notice from any of the teams that they intend to withdraw and he Is paying no attention to the reports that have appeared. "So far as I know the league will remain intact," said the president this

EARLHAM ROUGHS HIGH QUINTET
The college boys from over the river got busy last night at the Coliseum and defeated the high school team. As no fouls were called on either side the heavy Earlham bunch bowled their opponents over whenever they got a chance. The score was al out doubled on the high school team. It was evident that the spirit was lacking In the Ninth street boys. Earlham was out for bear and used the best lineup the entire game while Coach Nohr used his substitutes often. - Earlham has improved considerably but still lacks the necessary teamwork. Whenever they got the ball it was dribbled down the floor but to no advantage. Meeks and Laning proved puzzling to their guards, while Brown and Parker played well for the High. In the early part of the game both Pitts and Meranda were Injured but both came back after a few minutes of rest. Up to this time the score was pretty even, but the weight of the college men soon began to tell. The high school team lacked pep and will have to ginger up for the Rushville fray as the Rush county bunch has a fast aggregation. Over

confidence may mean defeat for the locals. Indications last night were that the boys were getting just a little bit stale and needed more rest. With the usual support, however, the boys and Coach Nohr promise a victory.
