Ben Weller, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Weller, living north of Liberty, was rather seriously injured Monday when at school. A knife which he was holding in his band was accidently run into one of his eyes. He was taken to a hospital in Cincinnati Tuesday and the eye removed. INJURED IN BAD FALL NEW PARIS, O., Jan. 20. Superintendent B. S. Davis of the Jefferson township schools, when returning to hi home in Richmond Friday even ing, fell over a huge pile of dirt in the ! street near his home and suffered var-, ious bruises and a badly sprained limb! when he fell. L. W. GIRLS' SOCIETY ELECTS NEW PARIS, O., Jan. 20. A very pleasant meeting of the . B. G. I. . C, was held Friday evening with Misses Fannie Penland and Mary Porterfield as hostesses at the home of Miss Penland. All members were present except one. The evening was merrily spent with needlework and contests, after which a business meeting was held. Miss Grayce Samuels being initiated into the circle. The following officers were elected: President, Miss Zelma Nunntnaker; vice president, Miss Irene Timmons; secretary, Miss Gertrude Hawley. A delicious lunch eon of pun -h, nut sandwiches and salad was served. The February meet ing will be held with "Misses Zelma Nunnamaker and Effie Eby. Van Ettner, 'president o the Pittsburg local of the United Mine Workers of America introduced a resolution in the convention here today bitterly assailing Judge William Dayton of the northern district of West Virginia, for his action toward the striking minters of that district and serving notice on the members of congress that the miners of the United States would not permit the impeachment proceedings subsequently br ught against Dayton to be dropped by congress.
