Strange sights have been seen at night. A party of young men, looking for the ghost the other night, say they saw a ball of fire in the trees but when they pursued, it ran away from them. A pile of gold was supposed to have been burled in the woods by the old miser many years ago, according to the ghost stories. The mystery remains unsolved and cold chills creep up and down the collective backbone of Kratzville when dusk falls. .Three thousand refugees from the devastated provinces of western Russia arrived in Irkutsk, the capital of Siberia, recently. Some of them had been twelve weeks journeying hither and thither in cattle cars on the railways.
