CLUBS TEAS DANCES
'' The annual dance of the Pel Iota XI sorority was held last evening in the Odd Fellows ball and was largely attended by the members of the sorority, tbelr men friends and out of town guests. The hall was artistically decorated with miniature Christmas trees and a lattice work arranged -with the greenery , added . to the effectiveness of the decorative motif. The Parker orchestra of Dayton, played .the order of dances. The program were quite attractive. Punch and wafers were served throughout the evening. The committee in charge was composed of Misses Ann Nicholson, Ruth Pennell, Dorothy Land, Mary Clements. Louise Malsby and Emerald Hasecoster. Dancing began at 9 o'clock and continued until 3 o'clock. Those dancing were Misses Elizabeth Marvel, Janet Reynolds of Dayton, Ohio, Florence Jordan of Evansville, Helen Nicholson, Mona Porter. An attractive social feature for the
day is the dinner-dance which will be given this evening by Miss Winifred Convstock at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Comstock in Reeveston. The Christmas colors with flowers vtll be in evidence. After dinner the children will enjoy an informal ' dance in the beautiful ball room at the Comstock home. The party will be composed of Misses Helen Robinson, Jane Carpenter, Alice Gennett, Margaret Coe, Gertrude Williams, Louis Ward, Katherine Reld, Mary Louise t Rates. Th phi Uelta Kappa fraternity held an elaborate banquet last evening at he Arlington hotel. The tables were aecorated with flowers and ferns. Covers were laid for forty guests. After dinner a cabaret featured the occasion and members of the fraternity who did not attend the banquet enjoyed this phase of the novel affair. The spectators numbered one hundred Miss Florence Gertrude Kelly, a cabaret singer at the Vincent Hotel in Columbus, Ohio, entertained the guests
assisted by Mr. Everett White, pianist Mr. Neil Bly and Miss Helen Kelly, a member of the B. F. Keith circuit, demonstrated a number of the modern dances. This was one of the most successful affairs in the history of the fraternity.. , Five Hundred club members were entertained Wednesday afternoon by Mrs. Clarence Jessup at her home on South Fifteenth street, when a Christmas party was enjoyed. Favors went to Mesdames Charles Kirk, Glen Beeson. Frank Watters. A luncheon was served. Members present were Mesdames George Ferling, Charles Kirk, Frank Watters. Glen Beeson, Webb Pyle, Edward Cooper and George Reid. The Woman's Home Missionary society of the First M. E. church, met yesterday at the parsonage with a good attendance. Mrs. Ray Longnecker sang and Mrs. H. C. Harman had charge of the "Mystery Box." Refreshments were served. The next meeting will be held in a month and the hostess will be announced later. The Symphony orchestra will not meet this week in the high school auditorium. .The next meeting will be held January 7 at the high school auditorium. As a , result of an attendance contest between classes of the First Methodist Sunday school the Golden Rule Bible class will banquet the Brotherhood Bible class Friday evening. January 7, at 6:30 o'clock at the church.

Marson of Cambridge City and Miss Edna M. Cain of Hagerstown, were married at the Grace Methodist parsonage, Tuesday evening by the Rev. U. S. A. Bridge. They will reside in Cambridge City. Mrs. D. H. Webb left this morning for her home in Memphis, Tenn., after spending the holidays with her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Saunders and other relatives. On account of the storm yesterday the concert which was to have been given last evening at the Second Presbyterian church for the benefit of the primary department has been postponed until Saturday evening.
