WHEAT PRICE DROPS ON CHICAGO MARKET

CHICAOCv Dec. 22. Tbe bulls were forced to five way. to the bears Is wheat today and prices closed' with losses of 1 to 2 cents. Cash sales were 30,000 bushel of wheat. Corn closed H to M cent higher, while oats were unchanged to H cent lower. Pork, lard and ribs were lower.

ELKS TO DISTRIBUTE 175 XMAS BASKETS

Christmas morning members of the Richmond lodge of Elks will distribute 175 baskets to deserving poor families in this city. So far $400 has been subscribed for this relief work but the expense will be close to $500. Thirty automobiles will be used in the distribution of tbe baskets and a "crew" will be assigned to eaeh machine. The machines will assemble In front of the club house at 8 o'clock

in the morning and the work of distri

bution will be finished by 10 o'clock.

The food supplies which will be placed in tbe various baskets will cost the lodge over $2.00 per basket. In each basket there will be a five pound meat roast, flour, bread, vegetables, fruit and other articles sufficient to

sustain a large family for several days

The relief work done by tbe Elks
