MILDRED CLARK GROWS POPULRR AT CALIFORNIA

ceived from Miss Mildred Clark, a student at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, Is . to' the effect that she is , enjoying her work. She mentions a banquet tendered Lady Aberdeen of Scotland, by the collge, at which she was a guest. Miss Clark Is a member of the 1915 graduating class of the Jefferson township schools, and her friends. rejoice in her success. Hold Chistmas Vespers. Vesper Christmas services will be sung next Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock by the singers of the Presbyterian church, under the leadership of Prof. Jesse Woods of Richmond. An orchestra of seven pieces will assist. Mrs. M. O. Penland is soloist. A cordial invitation is extended to the public. Aged Persons Live Here. Mr. Sarah Mills celebrated her eighty-seventh birthday anniversary December 8. New Paris has a number of aged persons whose ages seem not to be generally known. John Coblentz. Sr., will soon be 91; John Mc Cown will me 88 in, January; Mrs. Catherine Ault will be 88 in March; Mrs. Sarah Harvey will be 90 in April; John Ballinger is 83;. John Marrinan is 80; George B. Davisson is 79 and 'Peter Pence 79; beside a number of others whose ages reach past the mark of three score and ten. Mr. and Mrs. George B. Davisson probably hold the record for the longest period of wedded life, having been married March 3, 1858, rounding out almost fiftyeight years.

EATON The funeral of Mrs. .SaUie Anderson, more-than 75 years old, a well-known resident of Camden, was held Wednesday afternoon In the Presbyterian church at Camden, conducted by the pastor, the Rey. T. J. Gaehr. Burial In the Camden cemetery. Mrs.
f Anderson died suddenly early Sunday
at the home of of a daughter. , Mrs. George Harkrader, at Greenville, where she went late in November for a visit. Heart disease was the cause of her death. Mr. Anderson was the widow of the late J. Elliott Anderson, who at one time served as a member of the Preble County Agricultural board. Her father was the late Peter Murphy, well-known banker. Besides Mrs. Harkrader she Is survived by another daughter, . Mrs. Chelsea Aydelotte of Troy, and a son, Charles M. Anderson of Hamilton. Ex-County Representative W. E. Murphy, who reaides southwest of Eaton, and Judge Clarence Murphy of Hamilton, are brothers. A sister,' Mrs. O. D. Pocock, resides at Camden:
SAW SEVERS FINGER
MILTON, Ind., Dec. 15. Harry Chamberlain, who is employed at Funk's sawmill, five miles east of here, had a bad accident Saturday evening. He had the little finger on his right
hand caught under the saw. The fin
ger was almost severed. The bone is broken but the attending physician hopes to save the finger. Mr. Chamberlain lives in one of Mr. Funk's tenant houses.
MRS. NICH0L80N ENTERTAINS
GREENSFORK, Ind., Dec. 15. At the home of Mrs. G. - J. 'Nicholson, Saturday Miss Mildred Strickler entertained with a miscellaneous shower in honor of Miss Ethel King, a bride-to-be. Many guests were present, and she was the recipient of many beautiful presents. A social time was enjoyed, and a buefft luncheon was served by the hostess.
XMAS PARTY HELD BY MILTON SOCIETY
MILTON, Ind., Dec. 15. The N. A. O. K. U. club met with Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Warren, north-of town Monday. The occasion was the Christmas number of the club. A fine Christmas tree had been placed and handsomely decorated, from which were suspended many pretty little gifts from one member to another. The evening was delightfully spent in music and the Virginia Reel, the old time Christmas dance which was enjoyed around the Christmas tree. A fine luncheon was served in the basement. COMMERCE CHAMBER ARRANGE8 TALKFEST EATON, O., Dec. 15. Arrangements for the Commercial club's annual gettogether meeting are being discussed. Cuy Manager Walte of Dayton, and George F. Burba, editor of the Dayton Daily News, will be Invited by the club to attend and make addresses. The following committee has been appointed to arrange for the affair: C. B. Unger, W. O: Gross, R. J. Scheid, C. A. Hunter and H. C. Robinson. A good roads , committee, named at the last meeting, , is composed of F. R. Christman, Ora Girton and Harvey Flora.
