FINE PEHCHEflOHS BOUGHT FOR LEEDS FARM STABLE

A horse Bbow was staged at Taube's stable on Sixth street yesterday afternoon and today when Rudolph Leeds exhibited fourteen Percheron mares which he had Just brought from. Illinois where he purchased them at sales held on the Gregory farm, owned by W. S. Corsa, at Whitehall, and the Maple Grove farm at Piper City, owned by J. H. Decker. Horsemen who looked the animals over declared emphatically that It was the finest herd of horses ever brought into Wayne county. Caroness a 3-year-old black mare weighing 2.130 pounds is the pride of the stable for she is as pretty a piece of horseflesh as could be found anywhere. The mare stands eighteen hands high and carries herself as gracefully as a ring horse. She was sired by Carnot. Ziress is her dam. She has a lot of the best Percheron

blood in her and at the Panama-Pacific

exhibition this summer was .awarded Mcond prize. All the animals purchased by Mr.

Tweeds have a strong strain of Brilliant and Besique blood and nearly all of

them are in foal. They did not snow

up to best advantage yesterday as they were tired after their 24 hour train ride, but today they are as frisky as

young COltB.

LYRIC. "Gilded Youth" at the Lyric tonight. The Latin quarter of Paris stands for all that youth craves it offers the young artist the prettiest models In all the world. In the restaurants along the Boul' Mich' one can find the tired denizens of studio and garret enjoying themselves after the day's work, and if one seeks the true Bohemia it can be found more easily by crossing the Pont Alexandre III than by going to Prague. Movies will be seen in the Wayne county Sunday schools before long. A movement is on foot to purchase a machine which will be used by the Wayne County Sunday School association. Tentative plans being considered provide for each school in the association to share part of the expense of purchasing the machine and of obtaining films which will be passed around from one church to another until all have had the use of the pictures. The films are modern and follow in close connection with the Sunday school lessons. Churches in the city have been asked what attitude they would take toward helping to maintain the machine. Workers believe that movies in the Sunday schools are only a question of time, but sentiment favors the purchase of a machine for each school In the city so more frequent use may be made of 'the pictures.
