FIGHTING QUAKERS FALL BEFORE SUPERIOR TEAM

Before a crowd of over 1,000 persona the Quaker basket ball team was defeated last night by the Em Roes of Indianapolis 36-29, at the Coliseum. ! The Em Roes came here with a lot of husky boys in their line-up everyone of whom outweighed his opponent from ten to thirty pounds. Without a doubt the Quakers were nervous at the beginning of the game and they allowed the EroRoes to take a lead which was too much for them to overcome. The Indianapolis boys gave an exhibition of pass work at times in both halves that had the Quakers bewildered and during the second half there were flashes of dazzling work on the part of the home boys. Logan although closely guarded showed up well. He made seven field goals, two of which were wonderful shots. One he scored from a point at the side of the floor back of the center of the .field. The other was a difficult backward throw with a man hanging on him. Schepman played a good defensive game. Smith made the first score of the game outjumping Parker under the basket and dumping the ball squarely in the net. A few minutes later Parker evened this up making a splendid dash down the floor carrying the ball with him and dropping it in the basket. HIGH SECONDS WHIP REGULARS OF CAMBRIDGE As a curtain raiser to the big game at the Coliseum last night the Richmond high school second team won easily from Cambridge City, 37-1!). The i;aroe was rough from the start, as the muuber of fouls committed shows. Summary Richmond. G. 0 : 3 o 2 1 F.G. 1 6 0 0. 0 0 Missed 1 6 0 0 0 0 F. 4 Porter, f . . )'Neal, f .. Xtogers, c . . I FAST DAVIS MODELS HUMBLE MERCEDES Ihivis won from Mercedes last night 2-1, scoring two foul goals to their rivals one, either side scoring a field s;oal and this was due to the work of Mie hoys on their defensive play and jMune poor trials for the basket. The boys seem unable to find the net even jwhen they have almost a free chance and they need a lot of practice in basket shooting. Hockensmith and Tevis were the stars of the evening with Carver assisting his team mate with some clever 'passwork. Summary: Davis. G. F.G. 0 0 1 1 (I M issed F Dolling, f .. M-Mann, f. QUINTET The big Packard could not keep up .vith the little Ford last night and fell ipwn before 6-4. Each live scored K-o field goals but the Fords took the fad by scoring two fouls. This seemed discourage the Packards and the Ford boys had little trouble in holding !hcm in check after taking the lead. Uoth quintets played a good floor game but like the other teams these hoys are also off in their shooting in Hie open. Summary:

The visitors got busy after this with perfect teamwork. They handled the ball without a fumble and passed it all around the Quakers who were running wildly about ' without attempting to cover their man, Logan and Schepman were off in throwing fouls. Em Roes.
