' It is the story of what befelj an American citizen, a newspaper man sent by his employers from a city in the west on a roving commission over the war zone--not to cable daily news developments but rather to gather data on which, after his return to the United States, to base editorial " articles. He has just sailed for New York, having spent two mxmths:-in London following an equal stay In Germany. And here-are some of the conclusions on which will be based the edi- , torial8 he Is going to write- once free ' from tbe mauling censorship of both belligerents: He is convinced Germany will be returned the victory. He has arrived at this decision not by what he saw In Germany but what he has failed to see in England. -Experiences Change. When he left New .York be was strictly, honestly neutral; on his ar. rival in London he was full of dislike for Germans and German methods; on his departure from London his estimate of Englishmen and England made his opinion of the Fatherland and its people seem-Inspired by the highest form of admiration. When he landed in Berlin he found the American correspondents at the Adlon hotel were a law unto themselves. As intense as is tbe German dislike of all speakers of English, this favored little group of a dozen flaaboyantly American newspapermen ruled the roost so far as Berlin's principle hostelry is concerned. For these "boys" Herr Adlon himself , Is willing, eager to break any rule. "Verboten" and the "boys" are strangers at the Adlon. Official Germany js. even, a happier thing for these correspondents. Take the censorship for example. In Berlin he censor is a real, living, approach-

You' go directly to the man who is the Censor there is only one man who holds this job in BerUnj-and you sit down beside him and ask him why . he cut out the phrase in question and he tells you.
