NOAH MILLER PUT ON PENSION ROSTER

Noah B. Miller who has been in the employ of the P. R. R.. for over 33 years has been retired -on a pension by the road. Miller was a carpenter and worked for the company in Rich, mond during moet of tbe time he serv ed- Men retired on the Pennsy system are placed on the roll of honor and are paid a monthly pension during their lifetime. Up to Nov, 1, there were 9108 men on the retirement list and the company up to Jan. 1, 1915, had paid them $9,066,50445. A recent official estimate gave Venezuela a population of 2,812,668.

The no. tice reads fa part as follows: "After Jan. 1, In compliance with tbe state law and tbe recommendations of the State Board of Accounts, tbe correctness of all claims against the school city must be sworn to by by the claimant and acknowledgement taken by officer authorised by law. Free service will be made by any member of the school board or the clerk. Accounts must not run more than a month."

HEAVY LOCOMOTIVES ORDERED FOR 6. R, & I.

The G. R. & I. has placed an order for three new locomotives with tbe Lima, O., Locomotive Corporation for use in the freight service between Grand Rapids and Richmond. The engines win be pf tbe new consolidated type and wjn be much larger than those in use on the division at the present time. They win be able to haul heavier trains but it is not expected that any of the freights now in operation will be cancelled. The engines will be run between Grand Rapids and Fort Waype and between Fort Wayne and Richmond.
