KOKOMO, Ind., Nov. 23. Because

the city -health department and the township trustees were at loggerheads on the question of responsibility for the care of persons under quarantine, the family of James Little was com

The family was quarantined because

of diphtheria. A trustee has provided the family with food during the past few days.

An old prescription book in use In 1855 and now carefully preserved at Lowell, Mass., confirms the absolute truth of the history of Father Jorn's Medicine. The page dated Saturday, June 9, 1S55. contains prescription Number 55461, which was filled for Rev. Father John O'Brien of St. Patrick's Parish, Lowell.

Absolute Truth of this Story Is Attested by Guarantee to Give $25,000 to any Charitable Institution if Shown Otherwise.

This prescription cured Father John of a severe cold and throat trouble.

and so restored him to health that he was able to resume his work. In his visits to' his people he recommended to his parishioners and friends the medicine which had proved so ef

fective in his case, and people going to the drug store where this prescrip

tion was on file asked for it as "Father

John's Medicine."

So the medicine was named by the people and advertised with the full knowledge and consent of the Rev. Father John O'Brien, because he knew

of its value.

Father John's Medicine, which is to

day known in thousands of homes

throughout the country, is a safe medi

cine for all the family because it does not contain alcohol or dangerous drugs

in any form.

Many doctors as well as hospitals and institutions recommend Father

John's Medicine for colds, throat and

lung troubles and as a tonic and body

builder. Adv.

"Then that scene the otner night at her bouse was 'all in vain," he complained bitterly. "You let Varney risk his life, yet you will not stick to what you said." "I may as well tell you that I can't do what you ask," she interrupted tritely. "It would spell ruin to me. This very evening before I went out I was favored with a visit from that very scoundrel you spoke of, Erdsley. He is determined to ruin Leslie, as you say. I can't allow myself to be brought to beggary in my declining years. If. as you say, old Gaveston will not claim the property, it doesnt seem to me that much harm can be done. 'As to Leslie's reputation, none but a fool will blame her for marrying Varney when she thought you were dead. As for her boy. half the royal arms in

Who cares.

She took his hand and gazed at him fondly. "No, I don't love you any more. Vic, but Tm very, very fond of too. I don't think I shall ever love anybody again.
