Mrs. Wilbur Snelle, nee Miss Vira Benton, gave a miscellaneous shower at her home on West First street, in honor of Miss Marguerite Highley. The rooms were decorated with pink and white roses. The guests spent the evening sewing for the bride-elect. A luncheon was served. The guests were Misses Harriet Dickinson, Elsie Thornburgb, Marguerite and Mary Highley, Alice Griffin, Oliver Bowman, Erma McMath, Florence Spaulding, Ruby Shaw, Arva Jackson and Mrs. Paul Harris.
Mr. Edward Hilling spent Tuesday at Wabash, the guest of his son.
Mrs. Edwin Cates was liostess Tuesday afternoon for a meeting of a card club. Mrs. George Cates and Miss Alice Forkner were guests. Favors went to Mesdames George Williams and Henry Gennett. In two weeks, Mrs. Omar Murray entertains the dub.
Miss Meb Culbertson gave the first of a series of informal parties for Nurses of the Reid Memorial Hospital Monday evening. The guests were entertained at a movie with refreshments served later at Prices. Flowers and ferns appointed the table.
The annual basket supper of the South Eighth Street Friends' church will be held Friday evening at 6:30 o'clock at the church. The committee requests that baskets be left early at the church.
Nineteen members attended the St. Paul's Guild meeting yesterday. The hours were spent completing arrangements for the fair and bazaar to be given Dec. 1 at tbe Parish House.
The aid society of the United Brethren church held an all day meeting yesterday. The hours were spent in making comforts and other articles for the Christmas bazaar. A silver tea will be given Friday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Roy Babylon, 121 South Eleventh street, by the Woman Character Builders class of the Central Christian church for members and friends.
