$6,074,425.30 on deposit In the Richmond banks. - - Richmond maintains her boasts, "The Panic Proof City," If the deposits In the Richmond banks, shown by the statements made today In response to a call of the controller of currency are a safe criterion. The enormous sum of more than six million dollars was on deposit In the city of Richmond on November 10, the day for which the controller asked a statement of the condition of the banks. On December 31, 1914, there was on deposit in the Richmond banking; institutions $5,521,030. v In ten months there was an Increase of ten per cent of bank deposits in this city, or $550,970 more in the banks I than on December 31, last year. 1 Does this not look like prosperity? Does this not prove that citizens of Richmond are thrifty? Does it not give a feeling of assur

ance and of confidence to know that more than six million dollars, are on deposit In five banks in Richmond. In this six million dollar deposit are not counted the thousands , of dollars that thrifty men and women, boys and girls, have placed In the loan and

trust associations. Add the total of

these deposits to those in the

and you will be still more assured of

the soundness of Richmond's financial affairs. The big deposits shown at all the banks speaks loudly for the confidence citizens of Richmond have in the banking institutions of the city. The deposits are distributed as , fol

lows: Second National .' First National . ... Dickinson Trust ... Union National . . , German American .
