OHIO STATE DAY CELEBRATION AT EATON MOV, 26
EATON, O., Not. IB. Ohio State day will again be celebrated Friday . evening. November 26, not only In Preble county, but In the other eightyseven counties of Ohio and wherever loyal Ohio state people are found. The students of Ohio State university from Preble county organized a club last year and arranged on Ohio State Day celebration, consisting of an elaborate feed furnished by the Ladies" Aid Society at the Methodist church, ' and a live program was rendered by the orchestra, quartet and speechmakers. There will be some additional features this year, and it is expected that there will be many more present to enjoy the evening. The following students are enrolled at Ohio State University from old , Preble: Miss Grace Long,. KAISER GOES EAST TO INSPECT ARMY
- LONDO, Not. 3L According to a Copenhagen dispatch to the Dally Mail today Emperor William passed through Orosova en Friday enroute to Sophia to visit King Ferdinand. While in the Balkans the Kaiser will inspect the . Austro Germany army of Van Mackensen and congratulate the Bulgarian army. The Kaiser may proceed to Constantinople. This will be- the emperor's first visit to the Balkans. A dispatch to the International News Service on Nov. 6 stated that the Kaiser was preparing to go to the Balkans to meet King Ferdinand.

Back in 1879 Gavitt imported ten voice transmitting Instruments which be obtained from Theodore Vail, president of the Bell Telephone system. Gavitt says be had a tough time Introducing the machines. People ' complained that . a telephone - Intruded on . the privacy of the borne; that tt was a lazy man's invention; encouraged idleness; was a- hardship on errand boys, etc One wealthy citizen criticised Gavitt as visionary and predicted Evansville would never have 100 subscribers.
