LUNG-RACKING COUGH

Yields to Our Cod Liver and Iron

Remedy, Vinol.

To the people of Richmond we make this offer Come to our store and buy a bottle of Vinol, if it does not cure your chronic cough or hang-on cold, we will give your money back. Read this

convincing letter. "For seven years I had a lung-rack

ing cough which made sleep impossi

ble, and caused great distress. I also had asthma. I was obliged to sit up all night for weeks at a time. I spent

a great deal of money in search of re

lief. but failed until I used Vinol, but it has acted like a charm. I can lie down and sleep - all night without coughing, and one night's rest such as I now enjoy is priceless. Since I have taken Vinol I have had no cough or

symptoms of asthma, and it is a genu

ine pleasure to testify to the excel

lence of Vinol." W. B. McMurtrie, Station Agent, M. & O. Ry. Co., Willisville, 111. Don't forget the above "money back" offer, we mean it. Leo H. Fihe, druggist. Adv.

WASHINGTON, Nov. 12 "Our re-

ctionary Republican friends are man

ifesting deep distress over the grow

ing country-wide demand for the nomination of Mr. Justice Hughes for president," declares Charles C. Hart, secretary of the National Progressive Republican Union, in a statement issued today. "For a long time they felt safe behind Justice Hughes' personal disavowal of candidacy and were rather free to venture their insincere expres

sions of regret that the distinguished Justice was 'not available.' But now as the word comes from every section of the country that Justice Hughes is the universal choice of Republicans, these r es of political progress change their methods. Challenging the right of the people to promote or make such use of a good public servant as exigencies seem to demand, our reactionary friends suddenly evince nxiety over a movement which V. assert threatens the 'ravishing ct ne Supreme bench.' They deprecate Justice Hughes popularity as a presidential choice in two 'canned' editorials recently shipped out quietly to several hundred rural newspapers through the privately owned agency of the reactionaries in this city. "Sharp pain, even agony, finds expression in every line of these two editorial preparations, one of which is prefaced with this Indentation: 'The continued discussion of Justice Hughes as . r o - i'. :: Republican candidate tcr 'V.i . .-.ilency next year does little n'edi. tither to the party or to Justice Hughes.' "And further on we are told, 'We have never been in the habit of ravishing the Supreme bench for our presidential candidates and there is no paucity of candidates to impel us to begin now. The Republican nomination is not going begging. More than a dozen men now favorite sons of their communities, will enter the convention.' "This is a splendid interpretation of the archaic doctrine of the divine right of political machines. The masses of the people have no voice whatever except, like antique collectors, to look over the 'dozen favorite sons' and name their choice, we are told in thinly veiled language. "The liberal Republicans concede that there are some worthy and able men in the present line-up for the Republican nomination next year, but they insist that this nomination shall be made by the party and not by the bosses, and that, if for any good reason it becomes necessary to go outside those who are offering themselves ,to find a suitable candidate one who is truly representative of the

forward-looking thought of the times and can be elected it is their unquestioned right to do so. "If the popular choice happens to be someone occupying one of the highest judicial offices in the United States, there is no law by which the Supreme Court of the United States can restrain them from honoring one of its members. Even the disingenuous, inspired editorials of the reactionary agency In this city, painting a word picture of 7,000,000 Republicans in contempt of the liighest court in the land, holds no horrors, consequently no check, to this popular uprising. "The day is past when the people of this country will accept advice withouty understanding its inspiration. They cannot be deceived by the hand

of Jacob when accompanied by the

voice of Esau."

FARMERS WELL TREATED.

MUNCIE, Ind., Nov. 12. When the city officials here designated the four blocks around the Delaware county courthouse as a "parking space" for automobiles, they had no intention of re-establishing the old-time "hitchrack" custom, but that's just what has happened. Farmers coming to town sandwiched their teams in between the autos and it became necessary to grant them the exclusive use of two blocks for parking and feeding purposes. The fence serves as a hitching rack.

PROVEN SWAMP-ROOT AIDS WEAK KIDNEYS The symptoms of kidney and bladder troubles are often very distressing and leave the system in a run-down condition. f.The kidneys see mto suffer most, as almost every victim complains of lame back and urinary troubles which should not be neglected, as these danger signals often lead to dangerous kidney troubles. Dr. Kilmer's Swamp-Root which soon heals and strengthens the kidneys is a splendid kidney, liver and bladder remedy, and, being an herbal compound, has a gentle healing effect on the kidneys, which is almost immediately noticed in most cases by those who use it. A trial will convince anyone who may be in need of it. Better get a bottle from your nearest drug store, and start treatment at once. However, if you wish first to test this great preparation send ten cents to Dr. Kilmer & Co., Binghamton, N Y., for a sample bottle.. When writing be sure and mention the Richmond Daily Palladium.
