The Dorcas society has postponed its meeting until Monday of next week when Mrs. Frank Haner will entertain. Mrs. J. F. Hornaday was called to Fort Wayne today by the death of a relative, Rev. Chauncey King.
A number of girls met last evening in the Pythian Temple and organized a class in dancing under the direction of Mr. and Mrs. Nohr. Twenty members were in attendance. Miss Elizabeth Rohrer has returned to her home in Tippecanoe City, after a visit with Miss Hannah Hershey.

A bazaar will be given Wednesday evening at the Second Presbyterian church by members of the Young People's society. A successful surprise on Mr. and Mrs E. B. McMahan of Pearl street was given by their children and grandchildren to celebrate their fiftieth wedding anniversary. On their return from church they found ' their home beautifully decorated with chrysanthemums and ferns, a delicious dinner, prepared by the guests, was served. They received many pretty gifts. One unusual feature in connection with the anniversary is that Mrs. McMahan 1b one of five children, all of whom are living and have celebrated their, fiftieth wedding anniversaries, and Mr. McMahan has one sister and two brothers who have celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversaries. Those present were Messrs. and Mesdames Morton McMahan and two sons. Burgess McMahan and two daughters of Chester, Curtis McMahan and son of Webster. Wilmer McMahan. son and daughter, Arthur McMahan of Centerville, O. H. Wilson and son and Mrs. Allen Fouts of Hagerstown.

, EATON, O, Nov. 9. In charge of a poultry exhibit provided by the agricultural department of Ohio State university, Ora .Overholser ol-tbU city has gone , to San Francisco to attend the exposition. He will be in charge of the display at the fair and will remain indefinitely. Overholser is secretary of the Preble County Poultry association and an officer of several national organizations of fanciers, and probably is one of the best-known breeders in the country. ' - NOTED JURIST VERY ILL ; DANVILLE, Ind.. Nov. 9. The condition of J. V. Hadley. 73. former Judge of Indiana supreme court, is no better today and his death is expected, according tot his physicians. Hadley has been ill for some time with a throat affection and with a nervous disorder.
