Talks With Lovers Kitty Carothers Gives Advice to Young Persons and Answers Inquiries About Affairs of Heart.
Flossie, you are a very facetious youngster, and I believe you when you say that the men "cannot understand" you. You should not write or say the things you do about your beaux, as no woman every gained anything by being sarcastic, and showing up the personal deficiences of her friends. It is always better to try to see the good in those with whom you associate, although I suppose your spirit of fun will not permit you to overlook the absurd side of the persons who ar as funny as you describe. A good thing to remember, hbwever, is that, while some people may be very funny to us, we are just as funny to other people. I have no doubt you have some girl friend who has more than once convulsed her young men friends with descriptions of your own sweet way of doing things. Try to be charitable, at least my dear. WHITEWATER Mrs. Chas. White and Mrs. Samuel Addleman gave a miscellaneous shower Wednesday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. White for Miss Hazel White who is to become the bride of Mr. Herman Thomas In the near future. There were about fifty friends and relatives present at the affair. They received many beautiful and - useful presents. . . .Mr. and Mrs. Frank Willis of Union City are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. "Thomas Farmer and family Mrs. Jane Coppock returned home Thursday after a few weeks visit with kinspeople at Glen Karn and Laura, Ohio Mr. and Mrs. Henry Knoll and family spent Wednesday at Richmond. Mr. and Mrs. William Curtis visited relatives at Richmond Sunday..;. Mr. and Mrs. Cleve Pyle called on Mr. and Mrs. Fred Elliott and.' family at Arba Wednesday afternoon. . . .Mr. Chas. "Dear Miss Carothers," writes ''Old Bachelor," "I wish you would say a few words to the designing mammas and widows. You are always making life miserable for us old bachelors. I do not want to get married, but I feel in my bones that some of these days I shall discover myself in that unblissstate through these conniving women, who are always on my.trail." I am sure you flatter yourself when you think so many women are "after" you. Even if they were, I should say nothing about it, as I think, in a way, it is a disgrace for any man to be an old bachelor so there. HOW I CURED MY EYES This Tre Prescription Did It. "My eyes were in a terrible state; I could hardly stand it They were red and inflamed, felt as though they had sand in them. They would ache and burn dreadfully and caused incessant headaches. I could hardly read at all. After wearing my glasses my eyes felt strained, and overworked. .By chance I met a man whose eyes had bothered him the same way. He gave me the following prescription, which he said had enabled him to discard his glasses. "If you wear glasses or have eye trouble similar to mine I advise you to have this formula filled at once. "A. G. Luken & Co. or any druggist can fix it up for you. Here it is: "5 graihs OptOna (1 tablet.) "2 ounces water. ; , . - . - "Allow to dissolve, then bathe' the eyes by means of an eye cup three to four times daily oftener if convenient Just note how. quickly your eyes will feel fine. It does not smart nor burn, is absolutely harmless and any druggist who knows th formula -will tell you that you need not hesitate to use it If you try it I am sure you will be Just as enthusiastic over it as I am. Cut this out so you will always have the prescription." Adv.
