K. The Epworth League of Doddridge chapel cave a Halloween social at the
home of Mr. and Hri. Richard Spabr on Saturday evening, October 30.. In the elaborate decoratlona the Hal- . loween color scheme of orange and black was carried out. 'Yellow chrysanthemum were seen In profusion in the parlor,: while masses of white chrysanthemums made ran effective decoration in the dining room. Humorous Jack-o'-lanterns, witches and black cats gave the requisite touch of wierdness to the rooms. ; Three witches, clad in the conren-
tional witches' costume .and carrying
black cats, received 'the ghosts and other guests. The following program ; was rendered: "The Origin of v Halloween," Mrs. Barnum. ..:- .. . Reading, "Little Orphan Annie."

Playlet, a dramatization of a portion of . "The Houseboat on the Styx," Miss Clara Houseworth, Emmett Doddridge and Homer Bertsch.Recitation, Miss Mary Burris. Ghost Story, Mrs. Annie Doddridge. Ghost' Story, Mrs Ellen Ranck. Following - the . program i the three witches, conducted a fortune telling stunt, and each young person ascertained the initials of his or her future mate. The occupation and Alma Mater of each one's mate was also revealid by the witches. v Upstairs a '"Chamber of Horrors," and the chamber where Bluebeard's wives were ' murdered; appalled the hearts of the timid. Refreshments , were served to 86 guests. At supper fortune slips, prepared by Miss Burgess, were presented to each guest.- Each one was called upon to read aloud his fortune and much merriment was created.
