AGITATION OF POLO

HOW FOLWELL ' DEFEATED YALE
lilP Mi fiSt Iff -
Bob Folwell, former Pennsylvania star, and new coach of Washington and Jefferson, showed ' real football brains in training his team to beat Yale this year. Folwell'. team of last year was shot to pieces by graduation. He lost Spiegel and Fleming from hie back field, and his material this year was not only green but light. He knew he could not develop a line, smashing game with the material at hand, so he trained his backs in the fine art of forward passing, but not such passing as has been seen heretofore on eastern gridirons. His backs were taught to throw the ball low, and at no time does it rise above the head of the thrower. The passes were not long ones either, never netting more than ten or fifteen yards, but they served to beat Yale. Folwell also developed a whale of a run from kick formation, which completely bewildered the Yale men. The Washington and Jefferson eleven displayed quite the "newest" style of football that has been seen in the east this year.
