GRAFTS TO MARRY.

JEFFERSONVILLE,' Ind., Oct. 25. Charles H. Pryor, . Jr., 22, will not be married. . At least, ' .not right away. Pryor was short of funds for his coming marriage. Rather than delay th nuptials Pryor decided to get some money In a .hurry via the extortion route. Edmond H. Howard, president of the Howard Shipyards Company, was selected . as : a likely victim, so Pryor sent him a number of threatening letters which Howard turned over

to the police. A trap was sent and Pryor now awaits probable prosecution by the federal authorities.

COLUMBUS, Ind. Oct. 25 Columbus has a bad reputation among motorists, according to A.. W. McKeand of Indianapolis, whp. before the Chamber of Commerce, asserted that thjs city is denounced all oyer the state and is shunned by motor tourists of the frequent arrests ' made here of automobilists on .one . pretext or another. McKeand declares motorists were being urged to give the city a wide berth.
