Dr. Snyder, Ramsey Poundstone, Walter McWhinney, 'L. P. Meredith, Roland Nusbaum, Victor Newman, Dr. Duffin, Elmer Eggemeyf and H. H. Diddlebock were present. , Beebe Takes Chair. , After the meeting had been called to order S. J. Beebe was suggested as chairman and was unanimously elected. Sam Vigran was appointed temporary secretary and was later succeeded by H. H. Diddlebock. The chair appointed a committee of five for the purpose of organization, Eggemeyer, Duffin, Brehm and Ulrich, with himself as chairman. In. order' that something definite might be arrived at. Attorney Gath Freeman was requested to draw up a paper for stock subscriptions, as it Is the purpose to organize a stock company with a capital of $5,000, and on his doing so thirty-nine shares were subscribed, with- the understanding that this money was to be used for preliminary expenses, and that more itcck will be taken later, r Benjamin Hill -was appointed temporary -treasurer. The meeting adjourned to assemble again at the Palladium office, Monday evening, November 1, at 8 o'clock.

FREAK PLAY STAGED IN WORLDS CONTEST
The recent world series combat furnished a play that can challenge for the title of "The Funniest Play in Baseball." It was in the eighth inning of the fifth game. The Phillies were at bat. With two men out, Cravath got a base on balls, and Dugey ran for him. Luderus then took his place at the plate, and on the third ball pitched Dugey tried to steal second. Gary's throw to Scott beat Dugey to second, Scott touched Dugey sliding into the bag and Bases Umpire O'Loughlin waved out Dugey, retiring the side. The Phillies - started to take their places in the field and the Red Sox started in for their dugout when it was noticed that Luderus was putting up some sort of protest to behind-the-plate-umplre Klem. He pointed to his shirt bosom. Klem solemnly examined the shirt, then majestically raised his hand, walked to the center of the field and conferred with Umpire O'Laughlin. "What's coming off here, anyway? queried the crowd. The mystification was increased when Klem sent Luderus to first base and Dugey to second, and it continued until an official explained that ' the pitch made by Foster which Cady had thrown to Scott, had grazed the chest of Luderus, entitling him to first base, and giving Dugey second base, and nullifying the out made when Dugey tried to steal second.

MASON DRIVE PUG UP AGAINST ROPES
Crowded to the ropes by a rain of rights and lefts to the head, Johnie Stevens, of Columbus, Ohio, in the fifth of what was to have been a tenround go with Frankie Mason at Franklin hall Monday evening, waved hie arms to the referee and brought the fight to an end with a claim that he had been fouled. "He hit me low," cried Stevens, crumbling up in his corner "I beg your pardon," said Mason, his opponent, visibly affected. Amid jeers from the crowd Stevens left the ring and refused to go further. Referee Sullivan stopped the 'ight.

LATERAL PASS FAILS UIIESS VERY SWIFT
. . NEW YORK. Oct 22. Is the lateral pern a-'failure?: Yale 'perfected it but whet ' has Tale accomplished . with It? It used it against Princeton last year with some success, but it's use was a fliver In the Harvard, .game. . Yale tried It against Virginia and Lehigh this year and it hasn't brought results. The play la one of the prettiest In football and looks like one of the most effective, but the great, trouble seems to be the slowness of execution. If the line could back the enemy, the lateral pass would - be a wonder in making gains but no line can hold long enough. ""
The play consists of the center passing to the quarterback, the quarterback passing to one of the, backs farther along toward the enemy's goal line, and this back, in turn, passing to another player either an end or back. A lateral pass, successfully made, is good for a gain of from 20 to 40 yards, but it's success is hampered by the fact that the play is so slow that the opposition players have a chance to break through the line even before the second pass is made, and lay in wait for the ball as it Is thrown.

the visitors will be able to hit him.
Minner is quite anxious to start and it all depends on the form shown in

QUAKERS EXPECT. J TO TAKE HANOVER
Earlham is ready for the game with Hanover tomorrow, and . is confident of victory, as Rose Poly won from that team this season by a large score.' .. ., Yesterday Coach "Whiteside devoted the entire practice to passing the ball, and' had the boys stepping every minute. There was -less fumbling than ever before, and on some of the forward pass formations big gains are looked for. ' -. Bruner, Peacock and Fellers will be out of the game on account of injuries.
