T Gennett In all the splendor and freshness of a brand new scenic production, with a company of undoubted superiority and with all new acta and features, Neil O'Brien and his great American minstrels, now on their fourth annual tour, will be the "attraction at the Gennett theatre Thursday night. This season Mr. O'Brien and his manager, - Oscar F. Hodge, have assembled a company of prominence. Besides the star, the roster of comedians includes Eddie Mazier, who has been a strong -feature with this company ever since its conception; Pete Detzel, another favorite with O'Brien -audiences; little Major .Nowak, Emile tubejs. "Lasses White, Chas. Strong, end a score of others, all top-notchers. The singing features are promised as particularly delightful, the list of Etar vocalists including among otherB each well known names as Matt Keefe and David Morris, a phenomenal basso; S. B. GlHetti, Don Palmer, Al Palmer and a large chorus. M. S. Latham directs the special orchestra, while the specialties are promised as numerous and classy, including the new act by Neil O'Brien called "Darktown's Bravest Fighting the Flames." in which the star appears supported by a large cast, and "The Penny Ar.cade," in which Eddie Mazier has the leading role. At Movies Tonight LYRIC. The appearance of Marie Tempest in a motion picture photo comedy marks an event in theatrical circles. The vehicle in which 6he appears is spectacular in the extreme. One scene in it, taken in the California oil country shows a gusher spouting up from beneath "Mrs. Plum's" house and blowing that weather-beaten shack into smithereens. The oil well is a real gusher and carries fragments of Mrs. Plum's shack two hundred feet in the air. "Mrs. Plum's Pudding" tells the adventures of a penniless but self-reliant widow, whose home is blow skyhigh .one day by an oil gusher. See this play, tonight at the Lyric theatre. MURRAY. Mary Pickford will be the attraction at the Murray theatre today and there are hundreds of her admirers who have been anticipating her appearance here who will hardly be able to wait until the doors at the theatre are open. In the character of "Fanchon," in "Fanchon, the Cricket," Miss Pickford is seen at her best on the screen, for she has never had a more congenial role. Five reels will be shown. MURRETTE. George Ovey in "Jerry and the Gunmen," will be one of the features at the Murrette tonight. Ovey is considered one of the funniest men in filmland and as the Mutual company who produces this film considers him the funniest, it is up to the public to form its own conclusions. - "The Stronger Man," with brilliant Irene Hunt in the leading role will be the other attraction, and the Reliance company declares that this is one of the strongest two-part dramas they have ever produced. p . Villain once meant the serf, who belonged to the farm and was bought, sold or exchanged with it. Smelser of Centerville, Ind., died at his home September 14, 1915, after 'an illness of only a few days. Mr. Smelser was 53 years old. He was engaged in the livery business. He leaves a wife and one child, a son of 20 - years. Funeral services were i held at the home at 2 p. m. Saturday last, conducted by Rev. Sara L. Stone r of Eaton, O. OBITUARY. V , Lydia Jane Anderson, daughter of William and Lydia Jane Anderson, was born April 12, 1865, and departed from this life September 13, 1915, aged 50 years, 5 months and 1 day. When just a baby her mother passed away and she was cared for by the loving hands of her grandmother, Eliza Anderson. ; ft She leaves one daughter, two grandchildren, one sister, one brother, three half sisters, two half brothers and a host of relatives and friends to mqurn her loss. Throughout her illness as throughout her life she was forgetful of herself and suffering in the thoughtfulness of others. The influence of her strong Christian life was felt by all who knew her and having placed her trust in the one who knoweth and understandeth all, her departure was to her not a black death but an entrance Into the richer and sweeter experience of serving her Master over there. She has gone and oh we miss her But our loss is all her gain, 4 We will try as she has asked us, To meet her where Christ will ever reign. Funeral services were conducted at the New Liberty church on Wednesday morning, September 15, 1915,' by . Rev. Zelma B. Mills.
