oppose any action to condemn her property for school purposes, and will protest In legal procedure. If neces

sary,, taking her case to the Indiana1 supreme court. ! ' To secure the property and imme

diately begin the construction of the

building, all the board of education needs to do is file the suit in the Wayne county circuit court.' Dr. Johnston explained. After the papers are filed possession can be taken. - The court will then appoint appraisers, who will investigate and examine the real estate and property at Issue, returning a report in which their estimate of a jt amount to be, paid by the school board to the defendant will be contained. The board, under the law, must abide by their estimate if the court recommends. Ends long Search, ' The action of the school board in buying the properties of Mrs. Swift and Mrs. ' Nixon and Its decision to secure Mrs. MendenbalTa property despite her protest, is the result of years of effort by Its members , to obtain centrally located real estate to allow for, additional space for schools and to eliminate the congestion in the high school and Garfield schools, with their rapidly increasing enrollments. The square occupied by the Friends church and North Eleventh and B streets was preferable to the school board, but its members have finally depaired of the hope that it could be pur

chased after exhausting every reasonable means to . reach an agreement with the chureh trustees. Sr. Johnston said thli mtratng - - Disappointed, the board then turned Its attention to the property adjacent to the Garfield school at the corner ol Twelfth and South A streets. Some consMeration was given by the stem-

bars to the purchase of the property laying to the east of the school buildand fronting on A street, running to Thirteenth street on the east.

The alleyway separatta that prop

erty and the building offered too many possibilities of difficulties in the con Etruction of an addition. A distinct and separate building would be needed

under that arrangement, it was be

lieved. Tentative plans for the. new build

lag to be erected on the ground which will be taken possession of on the north side of the school, are now being considered by the board. Various

teachers and school heads will be ask

ed for opinions before a decision is

made regarding all the details. Bough

plans and specifications will first be drawn up by an architect. Bends will be issued to defray , the cost of the ne waddltion, which will range from new addition, which will range from

mate amount of Its cost being uncer

tain. The . board has decided that a mod

ern and completely equipped building will be erected. Practically all of the ground bought will be used, and the

dimensions of the addition will be approximately the same as those of the high: school ; annex on North Ninth street, though the building will not be as high. ,,-;'--; .:,"-. .; The exact number of rooms is prob

are different from other makes of stoves, and

to prove this we want to ask you if you ever saw a range that would heat the entire top without heating the oven. Isn't it a fact that you want to cook on more than two holes at the. same time? Then again:. don't you want to heat the reservoir and don't want to heat your oven. The "Laurel" does all this.

PERFECT BAKERS The logical reason why an oven will or will not bake is because the. oven does or does not have good circulation. The '"Laurel" oven has better circulation than any other stove. . on . the market.

Have you ever stopped to think of the poison that comes from gas, and doesn't it stand to reason that baking in a closed oven would absorb some of that poison? Besides, a "Laurel" Gas Range saves about one-third of your gas. The burner is so constructed that the gas goes into the burner with a whirl mixing the gas and air perfectly and no waste on account of non-combustion.
