' Both the Vigrans and Natcoa won their games Saturday and they are till tied for first place.. Vigran trimmed Easthaven 6-4,' and Natco took Ad-Hill into' camp. 154. . By defeating D. &. w., the A. S. M. Jumped into third. place. There are but a few games left to play and it looks as though the Vigran and Natco teams will have to meet on September 11 and light it out for first place. If it Is necessary to play this game It will come off at Athletic park. VIGRAN-EASTHAVEN. Vigrans trimmed Easthaven in a rather Hitlees game Saturday at Eaathaven, 6-4, before a crowd of over three hundred. It was an ideal day for the heavers and the three men who occupied the mound were all in good form and pitched excellent ball. Hensler should have won his game and deserved to, but the men behind gave him rotten support and he never had a chance. Errors were responsible for five of the six runs scored by the "Vage." and they earned but one of their tallies. Easthaven did not earn any of theirs. Vigrans Get Lead.. In the- ftrBt inning Vigran started with a lead of two. "Toad" Kelly lead off with a fly to right that was easy pickings but the mighty Sullivan made a two-base clout and promptly stole second. Reddinghous came across with a neat sacrifice which Hensler threw to Pottenger. The lanky first baseman juggled the heave and Sullivan scored but Reddinghous was out. With two down Stephenson was passed and he started to steal second. Glenn threw the ball a mile over Sweitzer's head and "Stevie" trotted across the pan. Minner was willing but he breezed, retiring the side. Score Again in Fourth. Vigran scored again in the fourth. Reddinghaus fanned. Stevenson drew a pass and came across on a combination of errors by Glenn and McConaha. Glen threw wild to second trying to stop Stephenson from pilfering a sack and McConaba failed to handle Minner's grounder, letting the catcher add one and leaving Minner perched safely on first. Williams skied to Pottenger and Geyer sent a eoft one to Hensler After Hawecotte died in the fifth, brother Russ hit one to a vacant spot for a bingle and advanced on Kelly's hit to Sweizer. Sullivan received a bad crack in the ribs and wnen Long failed to handle Glenn's throw in an attempt to stop his steal, . Sullivan scored. Reddinghaus ended the inning with a tap to Hensler who threw him out at first. Tally In Eighth. Another tally was made in the eighth. Sullivan walked. Reddinghaus fanned. Stephenson cracked out a hot one for a bag. Sullivan started for third and McConaha played the juggler's act and Sullivan kept going, scoring the fifth for Vigran. The Hawekotte boys were easy outs. The sixth for foxy Sammie's nine came in the final round. Williams plugged one good for a bag. Geyer cent out a relief that advanced Williams to third and he stole second. Williams tapped the rubber for the final score on Hawecotte s fly to lert. Russel struck out. Easthaven got their first in the eigth. They made three on Pottenger's two-bagger. Reddinghaus error and singles by McConaha and Sweizer. In the ninth Easthaven made a bid. After Conyers had filed to Williams Reddinghaus then fumbled Hensler's (rounder. Pottenger popped to Minner. McConaha hit a two-bagger and Hensler's came over. Roberts went out, Reddinghaus to Stephenson. PLAN FOOTBALL TEAM FOR FALL SCHEDULE Richmond will have an independent football team this year if present plans mature, George Brehm announced this morning. Work on the formation ef such team has been going on for some time and a definite statement will be made by the promoters within a few days. The plan is to play at Athletic park and to bring nothing but the strongest elevens here. There will be some new faces in the line-up but the major portion , of the players have been seen here before in uniform with independent teams.

BOSTON DISAPPOINTS The Tigers have a soft spot in their hearts for the management of the Boston baseball team. Yesterday the locals left in an auto hack to play a game scheduled at Boston with that team. Members of the team and rooters filled the vehicle. When they came to Boston they found the place deserted and nobody at the ball park. A committee consisting of Mike Knott and Merle Justice was deputized to look up the manager and returned an hour later with the information that the town was deserted and the manhiubi vuo v imu. iu uie uau uau ucfu drenched by the rain. Manager. Dingley passed the hat and the Richmond rooters contributed enough to -pay for the hack. f Moral Ask a member of the Tiger team what he thinks of Boston. RESERVES TAKE CLOSE CONTEST AT GREENSFORK Hartman's Pitching Allows Opponents Only Seven Scattered Hits, While Locals Hit One Long One. The Richmond Reserves defeated Greensfork yesterday in a close and exciting game. 4-3. Hatrman, working for the locals, pitched a fine game, allowing only seven scattered hits and striking out ten men. The Greensfork boys could not bang the ball for more than a single when they did connect with it. Hard hitting was not a feature the
only extra base clout being Eckler's double. The score: Richmond Reserves.

RAIN PREVENTS TEAMS ENDING REGULAR GAME
Rexalls and Fairview Reserves Submit Box Score for Four and a Half Innings Played. Yesterday the Rexalls and Fairview Reserves played four and a half in nings at Ratliff park, in a drizzling rain, when the umpire called the game with the score 7-2 in favor of the Reserves. This does not constitute a victory for the Reserves, as the rules provide that five full innings must be played before the game can , be counted. ' Manager Bowman of the Rexalls said this morning . that the Rexalls would have defeated the Reserves had the game gone the full six Innings, but Manager White is sure his team would have won with the lead It bad if the game had gone the legal limit.
