STARTS NINTH TRUCK

Beginning next Monday a new auto bus line running from Richmond to Boston. West Florence apd Eaton will te started by J. A. Banfill. This will make nine auto lines running from the Auto Hack station in the Palladium ouilding to adjacent towns. The new bus will start from here every morning at 7 o'clock and will return the same afternoon. It will be une of the largest in the system, having a capacity of two and a half tons. It was built at the Indiana factory.

'all of the features on th 1915 program of Richmond's $4,500 Chautauqua, which opens August 15 and last ten days. These interesting figures were brought "tot the attention of Charles W. Jordan, chairman of the' program committee, recently, after a discussion of the unusual merit of the annual event. ' Based on one hundred acts and addresses it is estimated that each ticket holder will pay the amount of 1 cents for each feature on the program. The' highest paid entertainment provided is "Ye Old Folks Concert company," whose engagement will cost $350. They appear here on . Sunday the opening day, and on the following Monday. The Cathedral choir ranks next in cost, appearing on the Richmond program for $350. The highest priced speaker will be Henry Clark, platform manager, whose engagement here for the week costs the committee $225. Governor M. R. Patterson of Tennessee, who delivers a speech on the liquor problem, will receive $200.' . . The respective cost of a number of other speakers and musical entertainments is as follows: Chicago Festival orchestra, $300; the White Hussars, $285; the Schuman quintette, $270; the Music Makers, $175; Senator Warren G. PUBLICITY EXPECTED ON FUTURE COURSE OF RUMELY PLANTS

The the re-organization of the M. Rumely company has reached the point when publicity will soon be given to the action that has been taken and that contemplated plans for the operation of some of the plants of the company, is the opinion held in financial circles following the announcement today by Finley P. Mount, receiver for the company, asking that all claims against the corporation be filed in the United States district court at Indianapolis. These claims must be filed on or before the first

the legal publication issued by the receiver.

local plant of the companv, as a state

CARING FOR THE TUBERCULOSIS IS A COrilUNiTY OBLIGATION

When consideration :1s given to the fact that- a ; community ? is in - reality a group of families, and that individuals are the family unit, it becomes apparent that the care -of such 'households Is as Much an 'obligation on the well households of the community as that of the. diseased individual on the members of his own family. The sick have given their years' of activity and productiveness, be they few or many, to the community,-and when they become diseased and are no longer able to care for themselves, they have a right to expect the community to do its share and give them such aid and care as their condition requires. In fact, it, is the underlying thought which prompts the community to care for the sick and that has been a stimulating factor in the progressive campaign now being waged for county and municipal tuberculosis sanitbria to provide suitable care for this class of unfortunates. The migration to health resorts to secure benefits of climate is applicable only to a favored few and it has been demonstrated that no necessity exists for the same, and that given the essentials for the care and treatment of tuberculosis in the home climate, the sufferer progresses as satisfactorily toward the arrest or cure of his disease as elsewhere. The victim remains in intimate touch with his family and friends is contented and infinitely better off than if he bad migrated west supplied with inadequate funds. Communities are realizing this, anti - tuberculosis socities - are being formed and legislation enacted in many states during the last decade providing for state, county and municipal tuberculosis sanitoria for the care of the tuberculous in their midst. They are also awakening to the fact that it is incumbent upon them to institute remedial measures unless they want to be left behind in the onward march of progress against this disease.
