Mr. Herbert Labr of Evansville, who Is a guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Cates on North Eleventh street, was hostess Wednes day afternoon for a meeting of an auction bridge club. Mrs. Clement Cates of Jacksonville, Florida, was a special guest. Cards were played at several tables and Miss Marie Campbell was given the favor. A dainty luncheon was served. Next week the club will have an all-day picnic at the Sedgwick cottage at Morton lake, and Miss Margaret Sedgwick will act as hostess. Mrs. John Maher was hostess yesterday afternoon for a meeting of a summer card club at her home on South Eleventh street. Five extra guests were invited in as a courtesy to Mrs. Maher of Middletown, Ohio. They were Mrs. Fitzgibbons, Mrs. John Fitzgibbons, John Zwissler, William Reece and Fred Gobel of Cambridge City. Each guest was given a pretty favor. The club prize went to Mesdames Walter Woodworth and George Reid. After the game a luncheon was served. The members are Mesdames George Reid, Edward Cooper, Webb Pyle, George Ferling, Charles Eorder, John Youngflesh, John Maher and Walter Woodworth. In two weeks Mrs. Webb Pyle entertains the club. Mr. and Mrs. Kally and daughter, Miss Janice of Detroit, Michigan, who have been guests of Mr. and Mrs. Horace Hollopeter and other relatives, left today in their motor car for their home. Complimenting Miss Olda Hensler and Miss Lillian Schreck of Hamilton, Ohio, Miss Clara Schwegman entertained informally last evening at her home on South Fifth street. The evening was spent socially and with music and games. A dainty luncheon was served. The guests were Misses Mary and Flora Torbeck, Alice Locier, Helen Berheide, Margaret Faucett, May Faucett, May Weiss and Clara Schwegman. As a courtesy to Misses Myra Harkrider of Louisana, Missouri, and Grace Ramsey of Winchester, Mrs. W. E. Austin entertained in a charming manner last evening at her home on the National road, east. Flowers and ferns appointed the rooms. The guests spent the evening socially and with music Hnd games. Refreshments were served. The guests from town were Misses Hazel Kinley, Florence Spaulding, Electa Foster, Margaret Van Zant, Isabella McLear and Mabel Bachmeyer. Today Mrs. Austin gave a dinner for her guests and also for Messrs. Charles Ramsey and Harry Davis of Winchester, and Miss Pearl Crubaugh. Mr. Alden Mote, a well known artist of this city, has a beautiful water color on display at the Art store on Main street. The picture is a beauty and is eliciting much favorable comment. In honor of her guest, Miss Jean Cheable of Frankfort, Indiana, Miss Dorothy Lebo gave a pretty theatre party this afternoon. After the entertainment the guests were served .at a confectionery. Other out-of-town guests who are visiting here attended the party include: Misses Marguerite Draper of Milan, Michigan; Jean Salin of Owentown, Ky.; Bernice Wiltshire of Indianapolis, and Elizabeth Kirby of Logansport. Mrs. Webster Parry has as her guests at her home on North Ninth street, Mrs. Goodwin and daughter. Miss Louise, of Morgantown, North Carolina. Last evening Mrs. Parry gave a prettily appointed dinner in honor of her guests. Forty persons attended the meeting of the Christian Woman's Board of Missions of the Central Christian church held yesterday afternoon at the

Garden flowers were used copiously in arranging the rooms. The program was given as announced yesterday. Miss Huth Blossom and Miss Mary Marlatt gave musical numbers. After the program a social hour followed and refreshments were served. Misses Ruth Kelly, Mary Marlatt and Ruth Blossom assisted in serving. A lawn party to be given this evening on the greensward at the North A Street Friends' meeting, has been postponed. Miss Mary Heildelman of South Tenth street, delightfully entertained last evening in honor of Miss Irene Boll of Dayton, Ohio, and Misses Louise and Loretta Johanning of Norwood, Ohio, who are the house fuests of Miss Constance Pardieck, of South Eighth street. Miss Dorothy Lebo has as her guest at her home on East Main street, Miss Jean Cheable of Frankfort, Ind. A number of social functions are to be given for the visitors. The annual reunion of the Levi Stanley family will be held Sunday at Glen Miller park. The Fry family will holds its re union Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Heckman on the Liberty pike. Miss Sarah Louise Reagan of Knightstown, Indiana, is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Reagan at their apartments in the Jefferson. Miss Janet Seeker will be among the hostesses for next week when she will give a morning party Wednesday at her home on South Fourteenth street in honor of viisting guests. Extending courtesy to Misses Bernice Wiltshire of Indianapolis, who is the guest of Miss Mildred Nusbaum and Miss Elizabeth Brown of Greenville, O., Miss Juliet Nusbaum will entertain this evening with an informal dancing party at her home on North Eleventh street.
