TURKEY GOBLER SETS ON NEST; HEN IS ROUTED MILTON, Ind., July 28. The Booster' club will meet Thursday evening and a pleasing and instructive pro gram will be given by Milton Gaar of Cambridge City. Mrs. Will Wissler returned Tuesday from a trip to Chicago. Herbert Hussey and family of Indi anapolis are guests of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hussey. Meedames Anna Brown and Ollie Irvin who have been guests of J. L. Manlove, have returned to Chicago. Mrs. Lou Klmmell, who has been the guest of Mrs. Vashti Klmmell, east of town, and Miss B. M. Kern of Mil ton, returned to her home in Muncie Tuesday. Here From Capital. Mrs. George Laird and her son and wife and also her daughter and hus band of Indianapolis were guests of Mrs. Mary Noll Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Manlove spent Sunday in the country with John T. Manlove and family. John T. Manlove has a turkey gob bler on his farm that has driven the turkey hen from her nest and is setting on a nest of fifteen eggs.. Miss Lillian Moore of New York is the guest of her mother, Mrs. Joseph Clevenger. Mr. V.:M. Wallace will entertain at a thimble party Thursday after noon. The Masonic lodge conferred the En tered Apprentice degree Monday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Weaver moved to New Castle Tuesday. Mrs. Lida Swope was at Cambridge City Tuesday to visit her brother. Will Ogborn and her sister, Mrs. Lydia Huddleston, both of whom are sick. Lighting Improved. The Interurban company has been making improvements in its lighting system at the local station. Mrs. Anna Harmeier, Misses Marie Harmeier' and Maude Hussey and Irvin Harmeier motored to Kitchel Sunday to visit Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Harmeier. Walter Houseworth aws the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Houseworth at Doddridge Sunday. Robert Shutz, Arlon Doll and Ray mond and Ralph Bryant were at Richmond Sunday. Mrs. Passmore was called to Wil liamsburg Monday on account of an accident to her brother-in-law, C. T. Price, who fell from a hay loft and seriously hurt. DIES ON EA8TLAND. LAPORTE, Ind., July 28. Miss Lillie Brochnow. 18, - daughter of William Brochnow, perished in the Eastland disaster at Chicago, it became known today. Two girl friends of Miss Brochnow were rescued. ; WAS ABOARD SHIP. " HAMMOND, Ind., July 28. John Moel, of this city, was drowned when the steamer Eastland tipped over in the Chicago river. He was a foreman for the Western Electric Co. .AWAY ON VISIT. MUNCIE, Ind., July 28. Richard Morely, an employe of the Western Electric company, has arrived here on a visit, after having escaped from the rear main deck of the Eastland when she went down in the Chicago river. WAS RESCUED JEFERSONVILLE, Ind., July 28. Miss Bertha Lupp and Miss Mabel Noles, of this city, were aboard the Eastland when that steamer capsized at Chicago. Both were rescued. ESCAPED IN TIME. ROCHESTER, Ind., July 28. Dr. and Mrs. Howard Shafer, of this city, were aboard the Eastland intending to make the trip to Michigan City, but went ashore because they considered the steamer overcrowded. SURVIVEDDISASTER. MARION, Ind., July 28.
