Mrs. Chester Coppock has Teen elected as superintendent - of the temperance department of the Christian church Sunday school. She assumed the du- , ties of her office Sunday morning and gave a very Impressive talk before the school. The talk was nicely illustrated. Mrs. Coppock will give a short ' talk each Sunday. Mrs. Harry Doty, who is superintendent of the missionary department, also gave a very excellent talk on the Sunday's lesson, 1 "Prayer for the Young Men of the Great Cities." Mrs. S. Templin had as her guests the early part of the week, Mrs. Mary Templin and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Eaton of Franklin, O. They returned home Tuesday. ., S. Mesdames L. A. Bragg and Carrie Johnson have returned from a. .visit with Mr. and Mrs. Verne Bragg at Indianapolis. Miss Clara Westhafer is looking after the interests of their property at Greenwood this week. Mr. and Mrs. John Thurman and daughter of Richmond, are visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Doty. Loses Fine Horse.. Clyde Leverton had a valuable mare killed by lightning Sunday evening at his home five miles east of town. He 'valued the animal at $250. ' Mrs. Lena Denton and little daught ter have returned to their home at Sweetwater, Tenn. The Boosters club program will be an open air band concert. Everybody is invited. The place has not been definitely settled but the music will call the people. The Rev. F. C. McCormick went to ' Centerville Tuesday ; morning to preach the funeral sermon of the late Mr. Myers, 60, at the Christian church. - Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Jones and Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Jones and family, formed a party of guests from here with Mr. and Mrs. Horace Hurst of near Connersville, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hoshour and family of Cambridge City, were guests of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Hoshour, this week. Goes to Fort Wayne. Firman McCormick has gone to Fort Wayne to spend his vacation with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Mrs. Zelda Newcomer and children and her sister, Mrs. Myrtle Newton and children, who are visiting their aunt, Miss Barbara Kern, were at Centerville Tuesday to visit friends. . Mrs. Emil Ebert of Cambridge City, spent Tuesday in the country south of here with her brothers, Joseph and Louis Klieber. Mrs. Olive Moore of Cincinnati, is spending a few days at the home of her mother, Mrs. Clark. The latter went to Liberty Tuesday to visit her daughter, Mrs. Mize, while Mrs. Moore Is here to care for the home. Ship Small Chicks. R. J. HOLDS INTEREST IN SPRINGFIELD HOTEL Burton J. Westcott,' formerly a Richmond resident. Is one of the directors elected by the stockholders of the new Link Hotel company of Springfield, O., which held their first formal meeting yesterday In that city. The incorporation of The company with a capital stock of $400,000 was also completed. Officers consisting of President C. P. McGIlvary, Vice President C. L. Nlsley, Secretary F. C. Link and Treasurer J. B. Cartmel, were elected. Mr. Westcott is one of the incorporators. Contracts for erecting the building in Springfield will be let at the next meeting of the board next week.

The Ladies' Aid society met Wednesday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Michael Kendall entertained Rev. Zerbe and Dr. Light at supper Sunday evening. Mr., and Mrs. Charles Williams and family of Elkhorn, visited Rufus Newr man and family Sunday. Walter Schneider and family entertained relatives Sunday. Charley Huffman and family motored to Centerville Thursday evening, where they attended the graduation exercises of a teachers' training class. Rev. Zerbe, superintendent of the teachers' training departmetn in Wayne county, presented the diplomas to the graduates. Miss Carrie Boerner entertained Misses Lucile and Marjorie Huffman and Bonnie and Blanche Sarman Sunday afternoon and evening. Rev. Zerbe, who was sent as delegate from the Williamsburg circuit to the State Sunday School convention at Logansport, gave the last division of his report Sunday morning. The church market held at the market house in Richmond Saturday afternon was a success. About $10 was cleared. The proceeds go to the piano fund. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Menke of Richmond, are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Chester Hill.

DISPLAY OF ANTIQUES ATTRACTS ATTENTION

NEW PARIS, July 21. The exhibit of heirlooms, relics cf historic value, foreign made possessions, to be held four days next week, beginning July 27, is creating wide spread interest. Many articles of value and age are being produced for exhibition, which was arranged bv Miss Carrie Whitacre, librarian. A watchman will guard the precious articles at night, and exhibitors need not fear for the welfare of their " possessions ty day. as all small articles will ba exhibited under glass, f There wili be no admission charged, the exhibit being arranged merely to acquaint local residents with the wealth of old time relics in this community. .
