RECEIVE STATEMENT OF REFORM MOVES

Richmond people today received copies of the official announcement of the Indiana Law Enforcement and Reform league, an organization re

cently launched and which. It is said,,

is being promoted by the Indiana Brewers' association. The program of the league's contemplated activities in its campaign of "education" Is outlined as follows: Strict enforcement of the liquor 1&W8 Transformation of the present-day saloons into cafes, where drinks would be served only to patrons seated at tables. Abolition of the standing bar in saloons. Abolition of saloon screens. Education or legislation to prevent treating in cafes. Investigation of all applicants for retail liquor licenses and opposition to those who are unfit to hold licenses. The league explains that it hopes to enlist In its membership the people of the state who believe in strict regulation of the liquor business but who are not in favor of prohibition.

Elmer Miller is the owner of a new motor car. Josephus Mucbler returned recently from a visit at Cincinnati. Mrs. E. T. Stanley will leave Saturday to spend the next two weeks on the lecaure platform. Z. H. Stanley and son Earl, motored to Cincinnati last week. Harvest is on in full swing. Baker brothers were called to Kentucky last week by the death of their brother-in-law, Arthur Rankin. Mrs. Dave Elliott and daughter were in Richmond Saturday. Earl Stanley was In Richmond recently. Will Ramey, Cleofus Ramey, Robert Collins and wife and John McClain and family werein Witt's Station recently. Oal:ey Moore was here recently. Mr. and Mrs. John Sammons and her parents were In Richmond recently. James Smith of Dupont, is visiting Mr. and Mrs. Richard Duvall.
