SUNDAY SCHOOL WORKERS WANT STUDY OF BIBLE

The most important work of the convention of the SUt Sunday School association which adjourned in Lo fansport yesterday was the unanimous adoption of a resolution proposed by the board of directors to wa( a campaign to make Bible study a part of the school curriculum of Indiana, according to E. H. Hasemeier. The resolution was discussed by President Robert L. Kelly of Earlham college who Is a member of the state board of education, from the viewpoint of the state board and school authorities. He said that all arrangements war ready for the launching of such a movement. The resolutions committee endorsed the plan and urged the Sundayschool leaders take up the matter with the various school boards in the state.

Richmond's delegation of thirty-two

persons has returned. Several of these delegates were Charles Callowya of Milton, Mrs. Clinton Commins of Webster, Miss Edna Smith of the

First Christian church, Miss Engelbrecht and Mr. Sieweke of the First English Lutheran, Miss Anna Kienker, Mrs. Will Klute and Henry Kimm of the St. Paul's Lutheran church and Mrs. Richardson and Miss Stotlemyer of the Second English Lutheran church. Ed. H. Hasemeier, who was chosen vice-president of the association, said today that the board would hold its first quarterly meeting about the tenth of August either at Winona Lake or Indianapolis. The convention next year will be held in Muncie.

BRITISH ROYALTY SPENDS QUIET YEAR ;. LONDON. June 18. Naturally the royal family is going to spend the summer in the most Quiet manner. No courts are to be held, but there will be a couple of garden parties at Buckingham Palace, one this month and another in July. BERNSTORFF SILENT ON MEYER INCIDENT

NEW YORK. June 18. Nothing but silence "and little of that" today was forthcoming from Count von Bernstorff, German ambassador, who returned from an auto trip through the Catskills. His secretary said he would have nothing to say for publication at this time about the newspaper allegations that Dr. Anton Meyer-Gerhard, his supposed envoy to Berlin, was none other than Dr. Albert Meyer, a high official of the imperial German war ministry. Dr. Meyer-Gerhard has been in this country Interested in the matter of obtaining war munitions here. The belief here is that the state department asked an explanation from

Ambasador" von Bernstorff regarding the story that he "hoaxed" the United States government by obtaining a safe conduct for the German war official under the guise of Meyer-Gerhard. The ambassador's secretary today expressed the belief that Count von Bernstorff already had communicated with Washington but would not make a positive statement.

PRAISE PETRO'S WORK

Words of highest praise for the poor farm administration were spoken by Dr. Parry of the United SUtes Health bureau and Secretary Melpolder of the Central Charity bureau on their first visit to the institution. The two men with Secretary Haas Of the Commercial club came to the farm yesterday afternoon unexpectedly. They found Superintendent Frank Petro in overalls building cement steps to the front of the administration building. "In dozens of poor farms I have visited, this is the first place I ever found the superintendent working," said Secretary Melpolder. The only fault found was in the women's building which is old and greatly inferior to the men's building: The visitors said it is the first time they found the women getting the poorest quarters.
