Eight Acres Sub-divided and Platted, With Streets and Alleys Graded, to Be Sold Saturday. GREENSFORK, June 18 Tomorrow is the day that will mark the beginBfng of a greater Greensfork. Greensfork has always been on the map, but the local Commercial club, citizens and Old Trail Highway club, together with the town council bave determined to put Greensfork on the map bigger than ever. For some time Greensfork has badly needed building ground and it has been impossible to place all the people that have wanted to locate here, for every house that has become vacant there has been from four to six applicants who desired to rent it. No vacanfftbouses are seen here and on

account of the physical conditions sur

rounding the town mere is just ooe direction in which it can be extended,

that is east and northeast. There is a tract of land laying just east of the town and north of the Pennsylcania railroad that was reserved by the former owner, Mr. Carter of Indianapolis for building purposes, but he was unable to handle in a manner that would warrant any extension in that direction. At the solicitation of local citizens the Gerhart Realty Company of Kokomo purchased this tract containing about eight acres and have subdivided it and layed it out in lots, streets and alleys have been established to conform with the original plat of the town, these have been graded and are ready for further improvement. Auctioneers. These lots will be sold to the hightot bidder on Saturday afternoon, sale beginning promptly at 1 o'clock, and from this time on the local people invite the surrounding towns and cities to watch Greenfork grow. The Gerhart company owns the land and in connection with the local Commercial club and citizens who are interested in the advancement of the town, Saturday will be a big day. A good band will furnish the music and down-town concert will start promptly at 12 o'clock noon and at 1 o'clock the big sale of lots will start. The realty company have engaged the services of Col. Reppert, lglehart, and Hamilton and

Son, auctioneers, ior tne aiternoou. Col. Reppert is well known over the United States and it will be a treat alone to hear him sell these lots. He bears the reputation of being one of the best auctioneers In America. Igle-

VJhart and Hindman and Son of WagergSw are also well known through here, lglehart has been one of the auctioneers at the annual Underhill Regisr . ... i i. 1 1 ,1

r country. i Greenfork's Advantages. 1 All the merchants and business men have signed and circulars are being distributed announcing this opening of Katrview addition as the biggest day in the history of Greenfork. They do not hesitate to say that they have the most alive town for its proportions in Wayne county. First of all Greenfork is located in the center of the best farming community In the state, our farmers are thrifty, alive and well-to-do, our merchants have a line of goods unequalled by any other town of its size in the state. There is a large department store owned by Geo.

the best in the country. Greensfork

has a market for poultry and products to Eastern markets. We have a good bank, churches snd splendid school, making our town a very desirable place in which to live. We have bus and transit line from Richmond to Hagerstown carrying passengers,' express and freight that in a very short time will make two round trips each day from Hagerstown to Richmond, thus giving additional facilities. Electric Light Plant. The town has an electric light plant that is not seen in every town of this size, giving the town six hour's service. The plant was recently purchased by the present owners and has been completely rebuilt and new equipment installed, having two systems, that will always insure perfect service. Electric light lines have been extended to the country and as fast as Fairview builds lines will be extended through this addition and the managers will give longer than six hour service when the consumption of current is materially increased. A contract was let for 2,000 feet of

cement walk this week and the board of town trustees are making every, effort to keep the town in the best condition possible, and the board, , together with the Commercial club intend to locate an industry here or more than one as fast as the people who will be employed can be accommodated. Y The local citizens are extending an invitation to all surrounding towns and cities to be present on Saturday and Saturday afternoon, and see what

will be the future Greensfork. Already word has been received from all direc-

AMERICANS ADHERE TO MOTOR PRICE SCALE

LONDON, June 18. A striking example of Yankee trading tenacity lis afforded by the motor car trade fin England now. Transatlantic freights have gone up tremendously, and British cars are scarce owing to govern

ment utilization of the factories.

the Afternoon sale and entertainment.

A welcome awaits every visitor at all places of business and by every citizen in town, for they are all interested In the big move forward.

NEW CARS FOR PARIS PARIS, June 18. The omnibuses are to reappear in the streets in a few days. They are of a larger type than those they superseded after an interval of nine month. The amount of walking that Parisians have done since the war began has been excellent for their figures and health. Happily, the loose-flowing skirt came in, enabling the followers of fashion to "faire du footing," as the expression is. The "flou" skirt was bound to come if only as a reaction from the sheath style; but the war ha ; hastened it.

selling at the usual prices. So high are the freights that there can be little or no profit left. But the Americans are intent on holding on to the market so that after the war they will have a firm footing established here.

HOLD TO WAR RELICS

LONDON. June 18. Those collectors of curios anxious to obtain some trophy from the front such as pickel-haube--the German infantry spiked hamlet or other article of the enemy's equipment, are finding great difficulty in gratifying their wishes. The numerous objects gathered from the hostile trenches that Tommy brings home on leave are far too precious to the owner to be parted with even for the comparatively large sums that are being offered.

ATTACK WILLIAMSBURG.

LEWISVILLE, Ind., June 18. When rain prevented the . playing of the baseball game at. Williamsburg Sunday, the home team refused to pay the expenses of the local team.

GERMAN CHILDREN LEARN WAR GAME

BERLIN, June 18. The annual school reports whici have just been issued show officially that all theboys of Germany from the age of fifteen up

wards are being trained to participate in the national defense should this prove necessary. The training of German school children falls in two parts,

a moral and a physical preparation. All ordinary j school programs bare been abolished and replaced by war programs.
