Mr. and Mrs. Will Boyd spent Sunday with friends at NeV Paris. The Masons of this vicinity held a meeting Thursday evening at the residence of Frank Pickett to make arrangements for next Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Will Pickett of Richmond visited Maichael Kendall and family Thursday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Caley Duke visited relatives at Eaton Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Wi'l Wesler entertained a party of youns people from Richmond Sunday. Mrs. Pearl Kemp and children were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Crear Williams Sunday. Dr. Roy Morrow visited Elbert Kemp Sunday. Sheffie Shaffer is improving. Mr. and Mrs. John Newman and family visited relatives south of Richmond Sunday. Miss Almeda Williamson is visiting Miss Florence Kerlin in Richmond.

The Yale-Harvard boat race at New London, Conn., not only promises to be very close once more, but, judging from the performances of two crews this spring, it bids fair to bring together the best two varsity lights that ever represented the institutions in the same season. Thus confidence reigns in both camps. Not in years has there been so much betting between the followers of the Dark Blue and the Crimson, and it is at even money.
REV. RENN DELIVERS TALK TO BROTHERHOOD

A concert will be given by the Commercial Club band Thursday evening. The annual memorial services of the W, R. C. were held Tuesday afternoon in Mound Hill cemetery. Members of the organlzati6n went to the cemetery at 4 o'clock and decorated the graves of sixteen departed members. &', Aj Cottingham, well-known farmer, residing near Eaton, has been named deputy oil inspector for Preble county by Governor Willis.
Rev. A. E. Renn, pastor of the First English Lutheran church of Indianapolis, and head of the Olive Branch Synod, was the principal after-dinner speaker at the banquet held at the First English Lutheran church here last night by the members of the brotherhood. The banquet, an annual event, closed the year's activities by the brotherhood and the retiring president, Henry Deuker, presider. Rev. Renn's subject was "The Working Brotherhood." Rev. E. G. Howard, pastor of the church, and Frank Haner delivered short talks to the brotherhood. Approximately forty members attended. The dinner was served by the members of the Ladies' Aid society of the church at 7 o'clock and was followed by the speeches. Before the conclusion of the program, the ensuing year's studies by the brotherhood were outlined.

ALBERT L. C. SMITH. EATON From the effects of an asthmatic trouble, Albert L. C. Smith, 78, a native of this city, died early Tuesday in the Sandusky Soldiers' and Sailors' Home. He was a son of Isaac Smith, a pioneer resident of Eaton, who was one of the first local owners of race horses. He was a private in Company C, 75th O. V. I., and served under the command of former Governor A. L. Harris. He participated in many battles and was taken prisoner by the Confederates, serving 11 months and 20 days in the Andersonville and Castle Thunder prisons. His nearest relatives are nieces, one of who mis Mrs. F. M. Green of this city. The body will be brought to Eaton Thursday and taken to Mound Hill cemetery for burial.
