RAIN CAUSES HALT TO K OF P EXERCISES EATON, O., June H.WWhen heavy, dark clouds threatened a downpour of rain Sunday afternoon, the memorial service of Waverly lodge, Knights of Pythjas, o bare beet held in Moux4 Hill cepetery, was transferred to the Pythian temple. After the service a committee proceeded to the cemetery and decorated the gravs of deceased brethren, numbring fifty-nine. Judge Edward golts of Newport, Ky.t deliy ered the memorial address. The speaker was introduced by George W. Spacbt, master of ceremonies. Members of the marching line bad proceeded a few block from Fytkian tenv p)e en the way to the cemetery when a stem threatened to break at any moment, and the procession turned back and went to the lodge room, where the eereises were conducted. Many persons whs had gone to the cemetery in advance of the procession were caught in the downpour, People from near-by cities, towns and the rural districts bed gatberede , here in the largest crowd that had ever been present to witness the memorial and decoration service.

Harry Payne Whitney is planning to join the ranks of the aviators. He is said to h,ave ordered one of the latest types of Burgess-Dunne aeroplane at the local plant of J. Starling Burgess. The machine is to be equipped with a 160 horse' power - engine and wlU maintain a - speed of more than sevr enty miles and hour. - Although a member of the Aero Club of America for ten years Mr. Whitney has never before manifested any inclination to fly.
CHARITY PROBES DETENTION CAUSES
Secretary Mel polder of the Central Charity bureau said today he would investigate the cause of the presence of each child at the Home For Friendless Women. There are twenty-two children there now for various reasons. A report will be made at the bureau showing .whether domestic troubles, sickness, death, lack of work, desertion or other causes can be credited to the unusual, number.
