CHARLES XING DEAD AT CENTERVILLE HOME

Charles Kins. ged 41 years, a rural route carrier at Centerville, since January 1, 1894, died at his home In Centerville at 1:20 o'clock Sunday afternoon of a complication of diseases. He has been ill for a year but was confined to his bed only three weeks. Mr. King's brother was killed In a railroad accident three years ago.

Charges King was a member of the

Modern Woodmen and K. of P. lodge. He Is survived by his father, John C. King wbo is Interurban Station master at Centerville, his mother, his wife, two sisters, Mrs. Fred Weber of Chicago and Mrs. Charles Meek of Center township, one child Mary King, and an orphan boy who has lived in his home for the last six years. Funeral services at 2 o'clock Wednesday at the Christian church in Centerville. Interment Crown Hill cemetery.

MANY ATTEND SERVICE.

Children's day services were observed in many of Richmond churches yesterday. Some of these services were held in the morning, others in the afternoon and one or two held in the evening. Appropriate programs were delivered during the services, the children taking part in them with songs and recitations. .The heat In the morning and the storm in the afternoon did not prevent large attendances.

DANCES ON SUNDAY NEAR MORTON LAKE MEETS OPPOSITION

Sunday dancing at Morton park has become a question for the board of directors of the Lake and Park company to decide. Action will be taken this week. Inquiry was made to the city officials, who referred the matter to City Attorney Bond. The city attorney re

turned a report to the park association that it would be required to give notice by publication that Morton park was an amusement park. This would enable the police to stop any other dances which would start as the result of ; Sunday dancing at Morton park. B. M. Haas, secretary of the board

of directors of the park company, said today he will resign from that office if the directors'' vote . to have Sunday dancing. "I am. a church member. 1 All the directors are church members. We can not sanction such a thug. ! I have no vote, but I wiu fight Sunday dancing as liard as I can. To expect us to approve of such a thing is preposterous," Mr. Haas said. The first dance at the park was- giv. en on the refreshment stand floor last Thursday night. Another dance will be given there next Thursday night .The lessees of the Wild Rover will open the boat for dancing within a short time. The floor will be eleven feet wide and forty-two feet long, and all obstructions will be removed. ) The purpose of the owners is to rent the boat for private parties for Sunday night-dances, or to operate their own dances, charging ten cents a trip with two dances.
