A banquet marked by its attractive decorations was given last evening at the Hotel Westcott for members of the Senior-Sophomore class of Earlham college. Professor and Mrs. Elbert Russell, Professor Hadley and Miss Gladys Bassett were special guests of the classes. All the decorations for the table were in pink and green. Pink roses intermingled with the greenery formed a center piece for the table. TLe banquet was served in the main dining room. Mr. Janney Hutton acted as toastmaster, Miss Pearl Earnest, gave a toast on "Allies," Mr. Homer Nixon on "Bombs," Mis- Rachel Stutsman on "Sub-Marines." Fred Hollowell on "Przemysl" and Professor Elbert Russell on "Arbitration." Miss Carolyn Hutton played several violin numbers. Covers were laid for over ninety persons. kerchief shower given last evening at the home of Mis Arline Barlow on North Ninth street, by Misses Barlow, Martha and Mildred ' Dickinson and Alice Kamp. The decorations were in yellow and white, the colors which will be used when Miss Marguerite Rush will be married to Mr. Everett Engelbert, June 24. The shower was arranged for the pleasure of Miss Rush. - A number of beautiful handmade handkerchiefs were given to the bride-elect. The evening was spent socially and with music and games. A pretty bride's book was presented to Miss Rush. . Later in the evening the guests were invited to the dining room where an elaborate luncheon was served. In the center of the table was a pretty box in which were placed the handkerchiefs'. The box was arranged with' yellow tulle bows and surrounded by a wreath of marguerites. Strands of ribbon were brought from the chandeliers and fastened by means of bows at the corners of the table. A cupid was also conspicuous in the. table appointments. For each guest there was a corsage bouquet. Miss Rush had a boquet of marguerites. The guests were Misses Electa Henley, Emily Walker, Nellie Feasel, Elizabeth Morris, Edith Moore, Elizabeth , Sudhoff, Florence Ratliff, Margaret Knollenberg, Grace Woodyard, Mamie Lott, Marguerite Doan, Blanche and Dorothy Rush, Mary Jay, Marguerite Rush and Mrs. Jane Jones-Bailey.

One of the early June weddings will take place next Thursday morning at St. Bridget's church, when Miss Edna Coughlin will become the bride of Dr. Thomas P. Donahue. The bridal party yill include Mrs. George Swain, Mrs. Walter Eaton of Indianapolis, cousins of Miss Coughlin; Mrs. J. Madison Walsh of Washington, Mrs. Walter Engle and Miss Blanche Luken of Richmond. Liberty Herald. Miss Luken .will play several violin numbers at the wedding. The West Richmond W. C. T. U. meets Monday afternoon with Mrs. Hall at her home on West Main street.

Mr. Russell Veatch of Connersville will spend Sunday here the guest of Miss Hazel Thomas of North C street. President and Mrs. Robert L. Kelly will entertain members of the senior class of Earlham college this evening at their home on College avenue. - The affair will be in the nature of a reception.
