CAMBRIDGE CITY, Ind., June 3 A banquet wa3 given Tuesday evening in the Presbyterian church at which covert were laid for fifty men. The tables were most attractively arranged with bowls of cut flowers, the members of the Ladies' Aid society and Guild serving the banquet. Following the banquet an interesting program was given. Dr. J. E. Wright acting as master of ceremonies. Charles Wheeler made the response, "The Business Men of Cambridge City," calling attention to the business interests and stating wherein co-operation might be made in church and business life. B. F. Wissler spoke of the educational interests of the city. Harry Scheidler presented the subject, "The Social Interests of Cambridge City." defining them as they are and what they should be. - ... In conclusion the pastor, Rev. F. B. Stern spoke of the attitude of the church in relation to other institutional lines.

CONDUCTS FUNERAL OF ELIZABETH PAUL CAMBRIDGE CITY, Ind., June 3. The funeral of Mrs. Elizabeth Deahl Paul, widow of the late George Paul, was held at 2 o'clock Thursday from the family residence on Front street. Rev. F. C. McCormick of Milton, conducted the service. Interment was in Riverside cemetery. Mrs. Paul was born on the Atlantic ocean,' while her parents were making the voyage from Hesse, Danldstadt. Germany, to America. She was united in marriage with George Paul of Cambridge City, March 8, 1855. To this union were born four children Charles W., Mary E.. Edward O. and Minnie M. She was for many years a member of the Methodist church and Aid society and ever took an interest in the questions of the day. She is survived by the son, Edward O. Paul of this city, a grand-niece, Mrs. Harry McCrae of Chicago, whom she reared as a daughter, and four grand-children, Mrs. Leo Gard of Richmond, who also was reared in the home of her grandmother, Elizabeth, John and Richard Paul, and one great grandchild, Phoebe Jane, the little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Gard. JACKSONBURG I Mr. and Mrs. Will Wright were guests of Mrs. Ida Wickersham Sunday. Miss Lucile Wilson has returned from a visit with her cousin, Mrs. Dick Ressler. Miss Iona Beard has arrived home from Remington, Ind., where she has been teaching school. Mrs. Davis Hughes of Millville, visited her cousin. Mrs. Oliver Morse, Wednesday. She was accompanied home by Floyd Mor6e. The Ladies' Aid society will meet Thursday afternoon, June 3, with Mrs. A. A. Lindley. -Children'- Day will be observed Sunday evening, June 13. A fine program is in preparation. The children are being carefully trained by Mrs. D. Daugherty, Mrs. Isaao Harrison and Mrs. Clifford Scates. Music is in charge of Lon Hormel and Mrs. Frank Worl. Mrs. Elizabeth Fauster is ill at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Kate Scott in Richmond. Mrs. Jacob Fink entertained the Busy Bee club Thursday afternoon.
