OLD TRAILS GROUP SEARCHES FOR SITE FOR JULY MEETING With organizations In various townships completed, the Wayne County Old Trails Road Association expects to complete the preliminary plans for the Fourth of July celebration within the next ten days. A county meeting will be held in Richmond, the date not yet announced, at which the township organizations will be represented. The place for the celebration will be determined at this meeting. It has been the desire of those taking an active part in the plans to have celebration at some point that not only will be easy of access from all parts of the county, but which will provide adequate facilities for accommodating a very large crowd of people. Hundreds of automobiles will wend their way to the place of celebration and some of the townships will form auto parades. This means that the problem of parking space for the automobiles must be looked after. Various opinions prevail as to the proper place for the holding of the exercises. Jackson Park, west of Cen-
terville, has been looked on as espec
ially desirable because of its location,
but the question of whether it will pro
vide sufficient space for the large crowd expected, and hundreds of automobiles has not been settled. When
the county meeting is held the matter
of location win be discussed from all angles and a decision reached that it is hoped will be acceptable to all concerned. The program committee will not complete its work until it is definitely know whether Senator Kern will be able to attend.
COMMISSIONER EVERSMAN HELPS IN RESORT RAID
Commissioner Eversman, Chief Goodwin and ten policemen swooped down upon a colored resort on North Tenth street, known as the Akron house, early Sunday morning and gathered in Charles Morgan and wife, both colored, who operate the place, five colored men and five colored women. The Morgans are charged with operating a blind tiger and conducting a place of ill fame. James Moore, Henry Smith, Willis Redd andd Frank Randall pleaded guilty today to visiting a house of ill fame, and each was fined $10 and costs and sentenced to ten days in jail. The same sentence was imposed upon Lizzie Williams, Kate Miller, Helen Jones and Clara Smith, who pleaded guilty of visiting a house of ill fame, and associating with lewd men and women. The case of Lucile Holland, arraigned on a similar charge, was taken under advisement. Ben Miller,
BAILIFFS KEEP UP JOBS LONG PERIOD
For life-time Jobs, that, of bailiff at
circuit court holds the record in political circles, Judge Fox said , today. John Markley, the present bailiff is starting his thirteenth year. In the past sixty-five years, there have been only three bailiffs. The first bailiff was Joe Coffin who served in that capacity for twenty-five years. He was followed by Jim Skinner who served for thirty years. Skinner resigned when he was more than eighty years old. John Markley became bailiff in 1902. He also has charge of the court library and can tell the location of every legal volume on the shelves.

FINES VIOLATORS OF FLY MEASURE IN POLICE COURT
That the "anti-fly" ordinance was to be rigorously enforced has frequently been announced of late, and it was evidenced in city court this morning when five violators were arraigned,
that the edict was based on no idle
threats. Peter Husson, William E. Evans, Thomas Oirty, Ed Thompson and John Shurley all pleaded guilty to having violated the ordinance because lids of manure bins had been left open. Although each man cited extenuating circumstances to condone his offense. Mayor Robbins assessed a fine of $1 and costs in each case. Practically all the men who were charged with violations of the "antifly" ordinance informed the court that they had not been guilty themselves of leaving manure bins open, and did not know that their bins were open until notified of the fact by Sanitary Officer Borton. "We can not spend all our time in the alleys looking after our manure bins," complained one man, and he asked City Attorney Bond what the city expected them to do. Mr. Bond replied that it was difficult for property owners strictly to
observe the provisions of the ordinance, but he suggested that all bin covers be padlocked.
who was also caught in the police drag net, was discharged, as he was not in the company of a woman when the raid was made. The police are looking for a man who had been with one of the women at the Akron house and had left just before the raid was made. Commissioner Eversman first tried to gain admission to the building by climbing a fire escape, but he found all the windows and the trap door on the roof securely locked. Then entrance through the basement was attempted, but without success. Eversman then rang the front door bell and informed Mrs. Morgan that he wanted a room for the night. When she opened the door Eversman and several officers dashed in, and confusion reigned among the guests. Willis Redd tried to jump out of a window, but changed his mind when an officer standing below in the street threatened to shoot him.
FIGHT BARRETT
Continued From Page One.
LOVE WILL STOP EUROPEAN WAR
Love for men is the solution to the great war problem, Rev. H. S. James told his congregation at the United Brethren church. Sunday morning. Love, the minister said, was the chief attribute of God. Men could not have this divine quality and still go out and kill each other, neither could nations love each other when they sent vast armies into the field for wholesale slaughter.
a vigorous fight against the candidacy of Barrett. Anti-Kelly members of the alumni are urging the election of the following three trustee candidates: Attwood Jenkins, Richmond; A. G. Mills, Chicago, and Mrs. Robert L. Sackett, Lafayette, A circular, drafted by Prof. Will Dennis, of Washington, a son of Prof. David W. Dennis of Earlham, has been sent broadcast to the members of the Earlham alumni urging the election of Barrett, and citing his qualification for the office. It is charged by the anti-Kelly faction that this movement was launched by Prof. Will Dennis at the instigation of President Kelly, and they further charge that he wrote A. G. Mills urging him not to make an active effort in behalf of his candidacy. The Barrett circular says in conclusion: "Although Mr. Barrett resides in New York, we are able to give the assurance that subject, of course, to such exceptions as would affect any one -else wherever residing, he will be able to attend the meetings of the board of trustees. "Benjamin F. Trueblood, '69; Don C. Barrett, '89; Mrs. D. C. Barrett (Marcia Frances Moore) '89; Mrs. Robert L. Sackett (Mary L. Coggeshell), '91; Horace E. Coleman, '95; George O. Ballinger, '96; William C. Dennis, '96; Elmer W. Stout, '96; Thomas Raeburn White, '96; Arthur F. Chase, '97; Chauncey H. Crawford, '97; Mrs. C. H. CALL OFF MEMORIAL.
Judge Comstock was notified Sunday morning that the Memorial exercises which he was to conduct at Hagerstown in the afternoon, had been postponed until next Sunday. The lowering skies and inclement weather made the postponement advisable.

Uric Acid Makes Backache Neutralize the Uric Acid in Your System and Back Aches, Kidney Troubles and Rheumatic Pains Will Quickly Vanish.
People get a backache and say "It's my kidneys." Kidneys cause backache only because poisonous uric acid is forming in your system faster than the kidneys can throw it off. Strengthen the kidneys so they can throw off more uric acid and then neutralize the acid that remains with a good uric acid solvent and you need never fear Rheumatism or Kidney Troubles again. As a uric acid solvent and thoroughly reliable treatment for Rheumatism and weak kidneys nothing is better than Lloyd's Kidney and Rheumatism Tablets which so many people are praising highly. Mrs. Ida Turner, 23 North 6th St., Richmond, Ind.. says: "After suffering from rheumatism since I was a young girl, Lloyd's Kidney and Rheumatism Tablets freed me from all pain. They certainly are wonderful." Mrs. Wm. Schwartz, 3S North 2nd St., Richmond, Ind., says: "I am now free from all signs of kidney trouble and I thank Lloyd's for curing me. Others would get relief I am sure." Mrs. Joe Fussner, 510 South 5th St., Richmond, Ind., says: "I am free from all signs of Kidney trouble and I am glad to recommend Lloyd's Kidney Tablets to others as they certainly cured me." Thistlethwaite. the well known local druggist, got the sale of Llyod's Tablets started here a short time ago and they have been going like wildfire ever since. One cured person just seems to tell a friend and so the sale keeps increasing. Nearly all good druggists sell it now and a 50c package begins to bring blessed relief right away.
