FRIENDS CONVENTION SELECTS MRS. HOLE
Mary Dean Hole of this city, was elected vice president of the annual conference of ministers and workers of the Indiana Yearly Meeting of Friends in session at Muncie. Ethel Probst of Centerville, was named as a member of the program committee. Professor Elbert Russell, in his address Wednesday night, declared that the church did not have the 6tudents and that denominational schools should be more strict in their rules regarding the student and religious work. Other Richmond Friends who were active at the session were Truman C Kenworthy, W. O. Mendenhall and Ross A. Hadj'ey.
County Deaths
MRS. RIFE POSH E P.. CENTERVILLE The . funeral of Mrs. Rife Fosher of Hartford City was held Tuesday at the M. E. church. Burial in Crown Hill cemetery. Mrs. Fosher was 70 years old and a former resident of Centerville. She was a sister of Samuel Daughty, at one time a prominent business man of Centerville.
FRED RUDY, HAGERSTOWN The funerl services for Fred Rudy, who was burned to death in the Locke fire, Monday, were held Wednesday at the Methodist Episcopal church. Rev. A. C. Wischimeler, officiating. Burial was made at West Lawn cemetery.
PASTORS ANNOUNCE PENTECOST WORSHIP Lutheran, Episcopal and Catholic churches of Richmond will observe Pentecost, the fiftieth day since Easter and the anniversary of the birthday of the church, on this coming Sunday with appropriate services. New members will be received into the church in communion services and special music will be rendered by various choirs. The sermons for the most part will deal with the significance of the birth of the church.

The Grace M. E. church this year has been selected by the Sol Meredith post, G. A." R.; Daughters of the Revolution, Sons of Veterans and Relief Corps aa the church to be attended by the members of these organizations in a body Sunday for thfc observance of Memorial Sunday. Rev, U. S. A. Bridge, pastor of the church, will deliver the sermon and the theme of his address has been chosen as "Our Departed Heroes' Message." The choir of the church is arranging an appropriate musical program.
VILLA TROOPERS SLAY AMERICAN
WASHINGTON, May 20. An American employed by the Huas Peca Petroleum company near Ebano, in the Tampico district, was shot by a Villa soldier about May 7, Vice Consul Bevan today advised the state department. Bevan was directed to obtain the name of the victim and make a full report on the matter. It is said the American was shot in the fight resulting in the capture of the Ebano

Visitors day will be observed Sunday by the congregation of the United Brethren church, acocrding to an announcement made today by the Rev. H. S. James, paator. Dr. James Shannon of Marion, will speak at the Sunday school and deliver the sermon at both the morning and evening services. Cards of invitation were sent out to all persons who expressed a preference for the United Brethren church during the recent home visitation campaign conducted by J. Sbreve Durham. A musical program is being prepared by the choir.
