BECAUSE: Richmond's annual payroll amounts to more than 14.000,000. It has about 150 big factories employing more than 5,500 persons. The capital stock of its factories exceeds $7,500,000. Their annual output is valued at more than 130,000,000.

BECAUSE: The Domestic Science club employs two visiting nurses to visit the sick and operates a day nursery for children whose mothers must work for a living. BECAUSE: The Home for Friendless Women affords a refuge for women without homes.
